It's gotten much better, the AirRail means the marathons from gates A to D are a thing of the past, and the food is top. Otherwise, still good old FRA with its morning fog.
If you want to skip long queues at security in T1 areas A and B follow the signs to Terminal D/E, take the train towards T1A/Z and use the security checkpoint that is way less crowded.
Make sure to leave yourself with plenty of connection time. The airport has one of the worst layouts and is very convoluted. On the best of days it is confusing and hard to navigate.
Schedule extra time to make it to your connecting flight. Airport is huge and 1 hour layover is super risky. Prepare to pay freaking 5 Euro for a bottle of water.
The only free wifi I was able to find in terminal b is outside the senator lounge near gate b42. Sit at the right side of the leisure zone and connect to "tmobile"
The airport only allow 30 min free wifi. But you can get an extra hour if you go to McDonalds and reconnect. Or type your friends cell phone numbers and get another extra 30 min-pin through them.
There is free WiFi around the B1-13 gates using Telekom. You get 30 minutes free by asking for a access code via your mobile number. It only allows one shot per phone number.
التفتيش الأمني الممل .. Think thousand times before travel through this airport .. The security check is really annoying.. Specially if you travel with kids !!!
If you are darker than khaki, regardless of if you have EasyPASS-RTP, a first-class ticket, etc. Be prepared to be sent to secondary screening. It's nothing serious just be ready.
This is a huge airport & complicated airport. Figure out where your terminal & gate are first - food and shopping needs to come second or it could cost you your flight!
Gates B area pretty well stocked with shops and most important they have free trolleys, look for them behind and on the side of pillars in middle of walkways.
Airportz good..u ll probably end up using money for food.. do BRING EUROS coz most restaurant wud giv u back change in local currency which wont be useful if ur nt there for long..
Lufthansa is a great company but the Frankfurt airport service is not up to the standard. Long queue everywhere. You should be careful when having a connection flight.
Travelling on a tight budget? Grab a bottle of water for EUR 1.- (!!!) at the Duty Free Shop directly after the security check. Cheaper it gets only at the public water dispensers around. ;)
Best food, fresh & tasty, to go or eat in: Meyer Feincost, just after security to the left (Terminal 1 A). Delicious soups, Sandwiches, Salads, Sweets.
If they send you to section a to pick up a car go to section b. Don't follow the signs be radical you'll get there quicker and mess with the German mentality for strict order
If you arrive at Z69 to Z64 and are connecting at an "A" gate sometimes you can go through passport control down a hallway to the left. Look for an A sign. There usually is no line.
I took LH493, It was some sort of Boeing, maybe 747.It seems the leg room getting smaller and smaller. In case of emergency landing forget about bending over as they recommend, there is no room!
Horrible airport that used to be good. Prepare for upwards of 60 minutes on busses to/from planes, ridiculous “security”, mazes of twisty passages w/o signage, and poor customer service
One of the worest airport I have ever seen in my life. So bad experience. I can't understand how rest area around the bathroom?! too much noise. The staffs are so rude.
Frankfurt Airport is Germany's largest aviation hub with more than 70 million passengers in 2019. More than 100 airlines fly to 275 destinations in 111 countries with approximately 1,400 flights per day.
