This is the largest airport in Germany and one of the largest in Europe, so expect it to be very busy at all times. Lots of restaurants, stores, charging stations and of course, free Wi-Fi!
Frankfurt Airport offers passengers the chance to surf the Net around the clock, free of charge. The WiFi network is available through the HotSpot portal of Deutsche Telekom and its use is unlimited.
There are multiple ways to get to Z gates from the A gates and the other way around. Always look for a Z sign sometimes they are on the left and right sides as you walk straight to the larger Z sign

The airport is huge so check your gate well in time or you might have to run to get there. There are plenty of cafes and shops on the way which might distract you as well so be on time. 😉
Don’t bother planning your route by looking at the airport map, Einstein almost didn’t make it out of Germany trying to figure out that stupid map. Just follow the signs, it’s far but not confusing.
No security during a connection, but they did check my passport the walk between was ridiculous though. 1hr!!! You should be able to call an Uber here! 🚕
It has a yoga room! Which other airport offers it? Additionally the service at the duty free and other stores is among the best I experienced - and I do know airports!
Germany‘s gate to the world. You can go almost anywhere from there. I like the healthy bowls at ”Natoo“ in Terminal 1. FRA is very busy, plan enough time.
Great airport to spend up to 5 hours without getting out! A lot of shopping places, cafés and restaraunts (including authentic german one on the ground floor). Free WiFi for 24h.
One of The Biggest Airports in Europe !!! Duty-free stores are all over the Airport. If you flying from Terminal Z you Should try Traditional Bakery ... Good Quick Food before your next Flight 👍
This is one of the biggest airports I've seen. If you are in transit, make sure you have at least an hour layover. You might need to walk for 30 minutes or take a train to another terminal. Huge place
If you are arriving from an American flight and connecting to another flight within Europe allow at least 1 hour for your connection. You will have to go through security again and the lines are huge
After the renovations a few years back FRA is much nicer and always pretty efficient, even though walking distances are long. Don't forget there's now free WiFi!
One of my favorite airports because you can navigate easily to your connecting flights even when in a jam. Great selection of shopping and places to eat as well.
In case of a long layover, there is a quiet public lounge in the second floor, in front of the Air Canada lounge. Great place to rest and even sneak a sleep on their reclined chairs.
Simple yet lovely airport, need more of those leisure zone facilities which i love. The outdoor observation deck is a must-visit & Meyer Qualität is a must-try! Super Delicious sandwiches! I promise!
It’s huge yet really organized and I love the fact they have racks offering free magazines for international transfer passengers. Great to grab a free copy of Monocle mag, my favourite
Great and massive airport. If you are a transit passenger, keep aside good enough time from one gate to another. Free WiFi and plenty of Star Alliances lounges across the terminal.
4 Drop off, follow signs 4 the required (Departure:Abflug, Arrivals:Ankunft). Drop-off Area. parking r located directly in front of the doors to Terminal 1 & 2. First 10 minutes r FOC.
Grumpy immigration officials, grumpier security staff, long distances w/ no walkways, too little seating, F&B outlets that seem to close every time you have that evening long-haul. Horrible airport.
They get rid of the gate A42 (A24-A40 area), converted it to a quietrelaxing area. If you are on long layover close to it, no one will bother your siesta time here at this area(except the PA).
If you have a short layover you will probably miss the connecting flight. If it's Lufthansa they will sort you out efficiently and you'll have time for a hot dog and a €2 Nespresso from the automats.
The airside food options located at the intersections of the long terminal hallways here are incredible and affordable. Showers, smoking rooms, and fast access to the city make it a great layover.
Really huge in here. Great lounge. Lots of facilities. Come early it is easy to lost there ;) great relaxing seats and power sockets. Excellent place for plane spotting
You have only 30min of free Internet in FRA airport. If you Reset Network setings (on Iphone you have this option) and provide another e-mail u can have another 30 min :)... and so to infinity :)
Modern and clean terminal. Definitely download the Frankfurt airport app for great deals if you travel frequently through Frankfurt. Lufthansa business lounges can be quite busy.
Clean, modern, spaciousairport with great design and cutting edge facilities for European standards. The restaurants are less interesting in terms of their variety of offerings.
Maybe the biggest airport in whole Europe, and getting bigger and bigger. It is very modern, but a bit complex. You need to be alert for signs. For connections, consider more time between flights.
Am only familiar with the B terminal but that's big and keeps you busy while in transit. The McDonald's has the best view of the airfield; at least 2 duty free shops; even a place to get a quick mani!
Looking for a power source ? Head upstairs at Terminal B to Kuffler & Bucher. Ask nicely and they'll let you sit at the bar with a beer while you use their power behind the bar. 2x Recharge :-)
I loved the intl. airport big and spacious, information center explained where we can find the car rental floor! polite and helpful greet you with a smile ❤️
Great airport. Only thing that you should be aware of if you are a smoker, once you get in from C terminal security there's no smoking rooms unlike in B or Z.
They made me threw out my Zippo's inside mechanism, which I carried through many airports including Heathrow, JFK, La Guardia, Milano Bergamo and Istanbul Ataturk. So, safety first?
There is a nice free lounge zone with extremely comfortable seats and power sockets near the A26 gate. Enjoy! https://shop.frankfurt-airport.com/en/poi/ruhezone-1/
From 15/09 until 15/10 the Frankfurt Airport Oktoberfest opens its doors again for all passengers - we invite you to tasty Bavarian food exclusive discounts and a lot of fun. O'zapft is! Read more
Free and very fast wifi - was able to download a movie in less than 5 minutes. The airport is large and can be confusing, though. Noticeable difference in amenities depending on the hall you are in
Terrific shopping before security. Come early if you want to buy gifts for family & friends. After security, it’s just the standard stuff and in some gate areas, nothing at all.
Security check is so unorganized and queue is so chaotic that there is big chance to miss your flight. Sadly, but arrival 2 hours before the flight is absolutely not enough for this airport.
Frankfurt Airport is Germany's largest aviation hub with more than 70 million passengers in 2019. More than 100 airlines fly to 275 destinations in 111 countries with approximately 1,400 flights per day.
