Security check is so unorganized and queue is so chaotic that there is big chance to miss your flight. Sadly, but arrival 2 hours before the flight is absolutely not enough for this airport.
Great, modern airport. Keep in mind that if you're flying from a Shengen country and leaving the Eurozone on the next flight, you'll have to go through passport control.
Never take a short-transit connecting international flight there!I felt like a marathon participant, while running to the other end of the airport to catch up my flight!Slowest security check ever!!!!
This is an impressive airport. It’s huge and just getting from one side to another can take a long while. If you’re connecting book to allow more than 60 min. In the summer the airport is very hot
It is quite amazing inside of the Airport, you can buy German Beer and Bratwurst!!! Especially Wurst!! But who searching for Stickers for Germany, there is no shop to buy.
DeliCoffee Kitchen [by Meyer Feinkost] at Terminal 1B near Gate B27. Tasty cold meals in plastic boxes. Recommend to eat before boarding or Take onboard. 12€ for two meals: I was hungry 😊
This entire place smells like a toilet. If you need to make a connection plan an hour for the bus rides through the runways, twists and turns through small hallway mazes and hauling luggage up stairs.
Looks like they have a brand new area of concourse A which makes this airport more enjoyable. Two new lounges Senator and Business Lufthansa in the area as well.
There is a lot of walking to do when you need to transfer. Wear comfortableshoes and try not to have heavy carry-ons. Give yourself time to find your next gate and go through security.
The DB trains arrive directly to airport from Basel. A lot of shops to keep you engaged if you arrive early. Customs stamp are necessary to get you tax back. Cash payment of tax will incur commission.
One of the largest European airport. Very convenient for travelling to almost any destination. Buildings are clean and wellorganized. Large shopping area.
Still a good (big) airports in Europe. Great facilities land and air side, and great new lounges at Terminal 1 with LH status cards. Give yourself time in transit. Superb IRIS type passport system.
Exceptionally brilliant Lufthansa tight connections service for their/Star Alliance partners. Whisks you [ & chkd luggage separately ]to connecting flight where necessary via Border/Customs controls.
No clear cut signs on which platform 4 direct train into Frankfurt.Help desk not always open, pay extra 2 ask the Travel Centre for advice. Tip: press English option at machine, use platform 1 to city
Tax free here is at the entrance area and second after passport control. Have your bills stamped and must carry the original bill and purchases with you. Otherwise they wont stamp it.
This is the business lounge for Lufthansa. Honestly ,I don't like it. The terminal is not organized you will feel lost 😕💔 but anyway the lounge is lovely
Security doesn’t allow you to prepare your stuff in trays in advance. You have to do it one person at a time as the security officer instructs. Body scanned, shoes are checked
If you have T-Mobile in the US, you get free 2g data roaming. You will get an automatic text letting you know if that country is included. Germany is one of them. Enable data roaming on your phone.
Quick and good WiFi. They are very traveller-friendly: announcements are said in different languages, depending on the flight destination, there are praying rooms for Catholics, Muslims,Jews, Buddists
The architects were surely big marathon fans: Every way takes as long as possible. Arriving by train and walking to checkin takes almost 15 minutes. Shopping possibilities however are sheer endless
20 minutes to the city centre by train from Terminal A, 30 from Terminal B. From terminal A take the train to Frankfurt HBF during your layover, it's a cool city!
Easy, quick access through immigration. A few decent shops, Starbucks included, inside. Hit the supermarket in Terminal 1 for some last minute snacks or sandwiches for the flight.
Chaos but somewhat organized. This is one of these places everybody loves to hate. We had some great pizza there today, restaurant before going into "A", starting with "b". Announcements not in time.
Lovely airport. No place to refill water bottles (the have 2 little ones that are not working, and apparently haven’t for some time). Strong Gleiche Wasser lobby?
Nice Termimal, check-in can be lengthy, allow enough time. Good bargains at Duty Free but beware; no shops or eateries past Security especially when traveling One World from E gates.
Very quite impressed about how the toilets 🚽 clean.duty free small organized helpful people.the signs clear lots if lounges for the business and first class
You can get a 24 hoursfree wifi internet hotspot access across the entire Frankfurt Airport. Just be sure to select the 'tmobile' or the 'Telekom' wifi hotspot. Enjoy!!
If you are an American citizen going go the Z gates there is a random search area at the top of the escalators right after Z security! Put your passport in your pocket immediately and keep walking!
Huge airport area divided in two main terminals connected by free express train. There´s a lot of services provided in this area, both buildings are very spacious, you can store luggage in terminal 2.
If you're flying business on Lufthansa with a layover, skip the in-terminal lounges and go to the Welcome Lounge behind Baggage Claim B. Free shower, wifi, beer, hot breakfast. FTW.
The regional connection to the airport by train are extensive and the station is expansive. Be sure to leave a sufficient (30-40 minute) window to arrive at the terminal, which is reached by bus.
Avoid FRA for changing flights. This airport is extremely confusing and personnel rude. To confuse you even more they display trains on the same screens with flights. Simply: avoid at all cost!
Long layover? Boom a room at MyCloud micro hotel (ahead of time). Beware : passport control line lengths may differ greatly going one direction vs. the other!
