Semifreddo - Italian for "half cold" - refers to a traditional Italian frozen dessert which is very similar to Gelato. A Semifreddo cake has a softer texture and higher melting point than Gelato even if the two taste the same. The cakes you find at D'Ambrosio Gelato always contain Organic cream, homemade sponge cake, and eggs. They have to be stored in a freezer and allow to soften at room temperature for 15-20 minutes prior to serving. We believe that Semifreddo cakes are one of the most refined and delicious desserts you can find.
