Omg! Tower of everything. Corned beef, pastrami, bacon, turkey, cheese. Good for sharing, even for the regular order ones. I love their strawberry cheesecake. Old chinese lady was so cute.
We visit here whenever in NYC. Even as a vegetarian I loved this place. Their veggie burger is to die for and their red velvet cake is spectacular. Huge, tasty salads and amazing sandwiches.
Be forewarned-sandwiches are HUGE! Definitely share! You think it's pricey then you see what you get and you see why. Really fun place to be! If you want lunch go early-the line gets crazy by 12.
Scrumptious sandwiches. I recommend the Reuben; it is incredible. Just a heads-up: the sandwiches are stupidly huge so plan on splitting. Small, packed, little place with an awesome New York-feel.
One of my all-time favorites. Dinner there on Monday with mom, brother Steve, Kreda, Sosh and son, Jackson. Brother ask waiter if bread comes with his omelette. "You have to ask," he says. Classic!
Usually get the Woody Allen sandwich (combo of pastrami and corned beef). Everything is top shelf, here- Matzo ball soup; Brisket; Latkes - all good. Desserts are fantastic- try the 5th Avenue Pie
This place is a must-go! I tell all my friends! They have the best cheesecake in the whole world! I I know people who don't like cheesecake, and they all loved this one!
When Carmelo Anthony came to town the deli immortalized him with a meat monument known as "The Melo". It's a skyscraper of pastrami, salami, corned beef, lettuce, tomato, Russian dressing and bacon.
Matzoh ball soup + Woody Allen + Potato Knish + Cheesecake = best meal you will EVER have. Just don't eat anything the day before or the day after and you will still be taking 1/2 home!!!
“the matzo-ball soup is terrific; The towering Woody Allen is satisfying; Carnegie is impt because it's the last of the great tourist-hazing Broadway showbiz delis” – GS: http://tinyurl.com/m8jpzn3
The venerable delicatessen's Sandwich of the Month. This puppy features a pair of latkes piled with roast turkey, gravy and stuffing, served open-faced with cranberry sauce on the side.
If you want to pay an arm and a leg for a pile of pastrami between two slices of cold bread this is the place to go. Servers are pushy and you are herded around. Go just to take a pic.
A tourist destination that charges $3 to split a sandwich. Still…it’s worth it once you dive into their giant pastrami sandwich served in a hot minute.
Great place for meat-eaters. Good place to stop after tiring your guests out walking through Central Park. Get cheesecake take-out at nearby Stage Deli on your way home.
the brisket sandwhich or the open face reuben! the sandwhiches are huge! love the homemade pickles. finish the night off with some strawberry cheese cake.
Have eaten here for 40 years. With it closing on Dec. 31 this was my last experience tonight: they closed an hour early because of "technical" problems and the manager didn't care. Good riddance.
One of the most famous delis in New York City is one of our favorites. Be sure to bring your appetite as once you see the sandwiches, you'll understand everything. YAY PASTRAMI!!!
Best damn cheesecake around! Great service. Doesn't take cards but there is an ATM on site and the waitresses are nice enough to make change if you need it.
Get the Woody Allen. If you're not a big eater, ask to share it. If you're a big eater, still ask to share. Finish off with the fresh strawberry cheesecake.
$16.75 for their famous Pastrami sandwich, and $9.75 for a slice of cheesecake. It's pricey because the portions are big enough for two, so go there with a friend.
Carnegie Deli is on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade path! Tune in and catch the Lewis the Duck "On the Roll Again" parade float presented by Homewood Suites by Hilton.
I got the woody allen sandwich with a slice of swiss. Nothing special I still prefer Katz over Carnegie. But I heard their reuben was pretty good so I'll guess I'll have to come back for that!
