Pretty big airport. Long trek to baggage claim if u are at the end!! Easy train ride to city.

Busy place and usually loooong security queues. Use the priority lane on the very left side, save you easily 30min+

Book your excursions and canal trip via great amsterdam excursions. You can recognize them by the cute typical dutch houses located around schiphol airport.
It is under construction/renovation at the moment. Also gate F05 seems to have an additional security clearance before boarding
Don't choose the "comfortclass to Amsterdam" trainticket option! It is 1st class and a rip off, follow the menu options and choose 2nd class
"The park" seating area in Gate D has very comfy lounge chairs in a relaxing ambiance

Good and modern airport. It has train conections and all kind of facilities.
30m of free wifi in the terminal so you can hop on Google Maps and find your train

Do your last minute souvenir shopping at HEMA. People will LOVE their smoked sausages and stroopwafels!

Terminal D has a terrace with great views, perfect for aircraft spotting.

On the way to D gates, sit on the bench under fake trees playing birdsong for relaxation

Jake SmithJanuary 3, 2012Be aware: the time your flight boards is really the time that security starts allowing people into the glass room that you can't go anywhere from. Go to your gate 45 mins. before takeoff.
Going to Amsterdam Central? Sprinter train takes the same time as a taxi, and saves you 30-40eur.
I’m sure this airport used to be better. Feels like an average experience these days. Central security search often backed up - so leave plenty of time to get through! Aircraft take forever to taxi.
