- Jason KyleFebruary 16, 2012We saw The Dismemberment Plan here back in January '11. Was a great venue, not really a bad view in the house and acoustics were great.
- MikeOctober 18, 2011Make sure to bring your earplugs if you're seeing anything but a very quiet band. The soundboard ops here, like at most small venues, believe that the only good volume setting is "all the way up".
- Washington PostSeptember 11, 2013Josh Burdette, who died Sept. 1, 2013 at 36, was called many things. Head of security. Door-staff supervisor. Crew chief. That guy. He said: "I am not a bouncer." Read our obituary for him. Read more
- ScoutmobNovember 28, 2011The 9:30 club isn't so named because it has anything to do with any time of the day, but because of its original location, 930 F St. NW, which is now an office building. Womp-womp.
- Pearl AOctober 8, 2012Get there early to get a good seat on the 2nd floor balcony! Such a great view for concerts!
- Matt PenniniAugust 16, 2010Bring a couple dollar bills if you plan on sitting in line outside during summer shows. There is a nice guy who will stroll down the sidewalk with a cart filled with bottles of water for a buck.
- Jenny SlaughterAugust 18, 2010Awesome! My only complaint is that I went there for a show on a Sunday morning so I opted for a coke instead of a beer. It was four bucks! Solution: get a beer. Problem solved.
- Jessica PlacenciaJanuary 5, 2015Huge venue, floor can get kind of crazy and crowded but good shows always happening here
- Michael Patrick Joseph GallagherApril 9, 2013Be careful where you park. We were vandalized tonight as our car sat on V Street across from the club. In broad daylight.
- Yianni KonstantopoulosOctober 8, 20109:30 Club is the best venue for a show in DC! Hands down! Get there early to get a good spot as its standing room only!
- Matthew JordanMarch 30, 2016Here is a fun video of the neighborhood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmd15ZQd_Vc
- Shawn RiderJuly 26, 2009Go to a show with a good opener, and get there in time to hold down the bar stools on the balcony above the VIP area and within arm's reach of the bar. Ideal seated viewing spot.
- Always visit the backbar before the doors open. Also, try the house beer!
- Amanda HoffmanApril 6, 2012They changed their Backbar policy and claim it's never been a separate line. Except every other concert we've been to HAS been a separate line. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!
- Xy XXMay 14, 2016Make sure that there isn't another show playing the same night. If so, verify the time- 9:30 isn't ALWAYS 9:30
- Jennifer KeeneMay 19, 2011There's no bad spot to hear shows at 9:30 Club. Just be sure to buy tickets directly from 9:30 - counterfeit operations abound on Craigslist.
- The best indoor venue I have ever been to. Very intimate and not a bad spot in the place.
- JB FabyNovember 15, 2011Really awesome music venues with a good mix of bands coming in, known or less known.
- OurStageApril 7, 2011About 1,000 times bigger than the original 9:30, but great site lines and free cupcakes backstage if you're lucky.
- Garrett ClayJuly 11, 2011One of the hottest venue's around, great idea to check their shows online, and go see one. Read more
- Stephani SOctober 14, 2010One of the best music venues in D.C. I saw Lupe Fiasco and VV Brown here. Standing room only so wear flats!
- Stacey MillerNovember 23, 2010Get there early to not have to fight your way through the crowd to the front of the stage. Pre-bands are always good.
- Never give up on a sold out show! There are always people getting rid of extras for face value an hour before the show. Not really surprising giving the flakiness level of this town! Read more
- Harley QuinnFebruary 28, 2011If you are feeling energenic, work your way to the middle of the floor and join in the mosh. Lots of jumping and bumping.
- Free coat check-in with your "Friends with Benefits" card.
- This is the best place to see a concert in DC, period. Wear comfortable shoes -- standing room only!
