This is the place we still talk about after visiting Seattle. Loved sitting at the bar and watching the crafting of wonderful cocktails. Here is a pic of a carved ice cube. Fantastic!
Love the details. Learned about directional freezing of ice which makes it more transparent and slower to melt which makes it ideal in an Old Fashioned
Fantastic selection of drinks in a speakeasy like atmosphere. Feel free to ask bartender to make a custom drink; they know their stuff. Also entertaining to watch they shave ice blocks with a knife
Sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders. They are all amazing and really know their stuff. If you're feeling adventurous, name a spirit and let them pour you a cocktail that won't disappoint!
Food and drink writer Jessica Voelker thinks that since then, it “seems to have transformed from the unofficial clubhouse for the serious cocktail kids to a high-volume bar with professional polish." Read more
Give one of the favorites a try: the sloe gin fizz and the “Ariel”, made with Aquavit, absinthe, Punt a mes, lemon and plumsyrup. Delicious. For more, follow us on 4sq or at www.renhotels.com. Read more

Every other Friday and most Satrudays, Andrew Bohrer sets camp behind the bar and makes some of the best cocktails you'll ever try. His caipirinhas--made with hand-chipped ice--are the best in town!
Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. Check out the vinyl in the back and enjoy the free happy hourGoldfish. Oh, and, obviously - have a Rob Roy.
The decor makes a convincing argument for the 1960s bachelor pad as an alternative to the current model for modern American cocktail bars. Try the Chartreuse.
Happy hour rates are ridiculous. Don't like seeing flies in the bar on a hot afternoon though. Bespoke drinks on the menu & non-alcoholic pretend cocktails available as well. (2 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Hand Carved Ice and a collection of amazing bartenders makes Rob Roy a standout in Seattle. Enjoy a Zaya Old Fashioned from Trickey and your eyes are bound to be opened.
Cocktails, at least as served by two different bartenders, lack balance. Casuals may think they are good, but definitely not for those looking for quality.
