The Le Méridien beds are divine... Service is impeccable... Food is sublime... Artwork pieces are sensational... Truly Taipei's best hotel. Far above and beyond the Mandarin Oriental or similar hotels
You can get upgraded when the hotel gets busy. The suite is huge and carries a moody cosmopolitan Chinese palace feeling.. It's awesome but borderline a monstrosity.
Great location and wonderful club floor rooms. Lounge not open in the morning, breakfast doesn't match the five star price tag. I would rather go to W (cool) or Mandarin (elegant) next time.
Had dinner at the Latest a Recipe. Reserved a private room, welcome the privacy for a family gathering. Some of us did not see each other for more than 30 years.
As a hotel, it certainly caters to that of the most discerning guests. Complimentary butler service, 24-hour upon request, handy valet boxes in the suite rooms means one never needs to be disturbed.
Start with something light such as the sushi bar or the get a tossed salad. Western dishes are okay at best. Make sure you leave room for the delicious pastries.
If you're traveling with a baby, be sure to tell them when you book your room. They have cribs, tubs, potty trainingtoilets, and infant soaps available. Super accomodating!
I have tried both their breakfast and tea time buffet and I think the food at afternoon tea time is better. Must try shrimp so fresh and yummy. Also the deserts are extreme tasty!
