During morning rush and school year, between 7:30 and 8:30 am, it's quicker to wait for the bridge to open after an unscheduled opening than to try to go down Mt Pleasant and the bypass.Upvote1Downvote
Bridge operates on the hour & half hour schedule M-F from 0830-1600(8:30-4:00pm)M-F from 0630-0830 & 1600-1800(4-6pm) the bridge is on rush hour waterway restriction.Upvote1Downvote- If there is an opening during either restriction it will be due to a commercial vessel(tug & barges,etc.) that made a prior reservation which has 2 b made @ least 2 hours prior to either restriction.Upvote1Downvote

- No weight restriction however height restriction is 13'9". M-F 6:30-8:30 morning rush hour restriction; waterway traffic restricted unless commercial vessel makes a special reservation.Upvote2Downvote
- The rush hour restriction applies to waterway traffic so the bridge will b open to roadway traffic for the commute to & from work.UpvoteDownvote
- Occasionally this gets stuck open or it won't properly close. Bypass isn't that far away, but going that way instead can add up to an hour.UpvoteDownvote
