Seaport Village was built on landfill where the Spanish expedition of 1782 buried those who had died of scurvy. In later years, it served as a railroad yard to send items east that arrived by ship.
The park preserves & recreates the old town from shortly after the Mexican War of Independence through the Bear Flag Revolt. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
This is the second-oldest concert hall in Los Angeles and can seat nearly 1,250 people.
