One of my all around favorite restaurants. Salads are huge and delicious. Almost too many small plates to choose from. I'm rarely disappointed with a dish even when I feel like I'm going out on a limb
One of my Portland favorites! Try the squid ink pasta, the grilled octopus & the house smoked coppa steak. They're so good (esp. the pasta) we drive from Seattle just to grab dinner and drive back! :D
I've been to Portland 3x and I've gone to Toro Bravo every time. Grilled octopus and paella are must-haves. But all their food is on point. Follow your heart and your belly will not be disappointed.
Everything we had - grilled octopus, Brussels sprouts, meatballs, and coppa steak - all were delicious with complex flavors that stood out. Cute and small - expect a wait, but well worth it!
Expect a good wait but it's totally worth it. Do try the kisses as they are quite unique. Bacon wrapped dates and octopus are delicious. Paella is really really good. Sangria is exceptional!!
Amazing squid ink pasta andoctopus a la plancha. Dates were great and French kiss were satisfying but felt more like dessert. I would pass on the seelbach cocktail and drunken pork.
The tortilla has yet to be mentioned and is so underrated. Best dish ever the potatoes were cooked to perfection...so soft and just melts in your mouth. Get it!!
Toro Bravo is about as Spanish as the French revolution, but this is damn good food. Get there right when it opens — at five — and be ready to fight for your spot. [Eater 38 Member] Read more
our party changed shrank and grew a couple times during the 2hr wait (which we expected, as a party of 7 on a Friday). The hostess took our changes with very good humor

The "spanish" food was not at all as it should be. Im from spain and i came here for a good spanish dinner. The food was spicy and had spices we dont use in spain. Not to mention the paella, just no.
I can't believe for a restaurant that is only open from 5-10 that they do not take reservations. Tried to get a table for 3 last Tues at 7 pm n they took my name n cell n told me it would be 2.5 HR
If you have to wait, you can wait in front or in their little cove and get served. They'll move you to a 'real' table (read: larger) if you want, but you get the same attention, service and food.
Get the burger! I know it seems out of place in a tapas place, but it is exceptionally good. Maybe not on your first visit...but it just gives you another reason to come back!
