they have two tiers of omakase here, one of which is a real splurge ($85), but the other one you can kinda justify as a nice night out ($45). and it's all delicious. some of the best sushi in nyc.

Great omakase for the value. 85$ for 15 pieces and a hand roll. Chef Hideo made my fantasy a reality when he married scallop and uni in one piece 😍. A taste of heaven!

A great omakase deal, ask to sit with chef David, the owner. Make reservations weeks in advance. He is extremely friendly! Good food, good times!

Great 15 piece + hand roll omakase. Would come back again, good value relative to other omakases.

Wanted to come here for the <$100 omakase but boyf insisted on the chef’s choice. Very good stuff, and traditional, small spot. I would say you can get just as good for moderately cheaper

Besides the omakase, try the uni flight from diff regions of the world and the tuna tartar where the special soy sauce is already mixed in the tuna scramble and pairs perfectly with fried seaweed.

15 piece omakase for $90 is pretty good in NYC. Great sushi (reminded us of Japan) in a fun environment. We bonded with our chef, Takeshi, over sake.

12 piece omakase had very fresh fish (with ohtoro and uni), very filling, and great value. I especially liked the wagyu fried rice, which had rice beef flavor but not overpowering the rice.

I love this place. Food is fantastic and fresh, and he has some new, inventive takes on Japanese dishes. Sushi chefs and service are great. Been three times now, and have consistently been impressed.

The sushi is definitely solid but the omakase ($90) isn't that big of a steal, price wise. Instead get the deluxe 10 piece sushi for $45 and add a side or two. I loved the tempura

Great quality, affordable, & laid back atmosphere. Get the omakase! Chef David & female Chef Hiromi gave us a great experience. We will be back for sure!

Two omakase offerings are only available at the bar, including the $90 chef’s choice of 15 pieces of sushi and a hand roll (there’s also sushi and sashimi for $120).

Stay a while, drink lots of sake, and rowdiness will ensue. Omakase is a worth it here—first for the fresh, inventive sushi, second for the fun of it all.

Three pieces from the omakase that I can't stop thinking about: perfectly seared salmon, scallop and uni, Maine uni. The sake somm is excellent.

Sushi is great. Weird vibes tho, blasting techno and saw all the workers take shots of sake with the customers and the manager walking around promoting sake. lol wuhh

High quality sushi, downtown sensibilities. David knows his sushi, and I have also had wonderful experiences with Hiromi at the bar. If you're here for sushi, go the omakase route.

The 4 types of Uni were the best that night and I usually don't get all Uni gaga. Omakase in 50 minutes at a decent price.

the $45 omakase is a great value... appetizers are not worth it (tried tuna tartare and pork belly). Ask them to taste some sake!

Omakase & 90s rave music - interesting combo. If you're serving traditional sushi - it needs to be fresh, Dojo's fish just doesn't cut it. More creativity might help mask the bland tastes
