Be sure to leave extra time to get through security. Liquids 100mls and less must be placed in a 20cmx20cm resealable bag and kept out of your bag separately.
Dublin flights have a tendency to change from the normal Ryanair departure area - keep an eye on the boards before moving to gate. Don't assume ull make ur flight if u get it wrong - it's a long walk!
The queues for security are incredibly long and are staffed by unfriendly, unsmiling individuals. I will be travelling to Heathrow in order to fly next time, thank goodness.
This is one of the most annoying airports ever.. A place where low cost airlines degrade you to a piece of luggage but at the same time will bully you into spending as much as possible on the site..
Don't spend £1 on mini plastic bags... Scan your boarding pass and go through the gates, and they'll give you some for free when you get into the security queue
Arrive with LOTS of time to spare. They charge £3 just to drop people off now which results in a massive queue out front. Secondly, pay £5 for fast track security lane once inside to save an hour.
This airport is not so good ! Only 1 hr. wifi! There are many people sleeping there but they can't sleep because there are no chairs or place to sit! The cheapest way to go to the center is easybus!
We landed on time and immigration was fast but we had to wait 55 minutes to know on which belt our Baggage will come. That is disappointing at nice airports like Stansted.
This is not an airport, it's a bloody shopping mall that is attached to an airport. I need you guys to understand that while travelling from A to B all I want is to get from A to B. That's it.
Come at least 3 hours before your flight. Took me 40 minutes to have a boarding pass, 15 minutes wating for my bag after passing him at the clearence machine and about 20 minutes running to my gate
Don knock Stansted. Travel weekly from here and compared to Heathrow it is easily the best Londonairport. Although if anyone works in border control can you sort that out as it manned by numskulls
Fairly nice experience but we had one guy come up to us and ask to see our tiny Spaniel pup. We said no and he just crouched down and went "exactly my problem", seeming to slowly weep
1 hour of free WiFi avaliable. And if you need to charge your phone/laptop/netbook/etc there are sockets and charging points throughout all the airside.
There are two No 1 lounges at Stansted. One by gate 74 which is a good 15 min walk from the main terminal and one at satellite 1 for gates 11 through 19. The second is much nicer.
If you're planning to spend the night to catch an early flight, be sure to arrive around 10pm, otherwise all the good seats to sleep on will have already been taken!
London Stansted Airport serves 200 destinations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. It is the fourth busiest airport in the UK after Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester handling 28 million passengers in 2018.
