Ted Locker, one of the owners and operators of the new store says, "shoppers should have an "outlet mentality" when they visit. The store is ideal for beginners who don't want to make a huge investment in the latest, greatest gear", he said. Quantum rod-and-reel combos, originally priced at $59.99, are sold at Sportsman's for $34.99. Scent-Lok full-season jackets, once listed at $159, have been marked down to $79.99. Chambersburg, Pa.-based Sportsman's Liquidation licenses its name to 21 locations, most on the East Coast. The Pottstown operation marks the firm's first in the Montgomery and Chester County areas. The store employs 5 full- and part-time workers. "T.J. Maxx for the outdoor enthusiast" was how Ben Locker, the company's vice president, described the retail operation. Matt Kirsch, another co-owner stated that "the focus of Sportsman's Liquidation is hunting, fishing and camping. We strongly believe our prices and selection will make our store a destination for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds."
