Simon: Big Portions, Breakfast. This is one of my favorites because I love their pancakes (try the ones with caramelized bananas and rum), their benedicts, and their mango lychee smoothie. It’s also reasonably priced for the amount of food.
Simon: A waffles place doesn’t sound so special but really all they do is waffles. Really yummy stuff, both savory and sweet.
Simon: You have to try Montreal smoked meat J. A favorite is usually Reuben’s but there’s also a lesser-known Dunn’s where you can also get a pretty good smoked meat. Skip Shwartz, it’s not as good as advertised and has gotten really bad over the years.

Simon: La Classique (Fries, Cheese Curds, Gravy). wide variety of poutines and is the best place to be after a long night around town ;)
Simon: Lots of variety of hot chocolates, fondue au chocolat, and all things chocolate (if you couldn’t tell by the name J). I really like their fondue au chocolat with fruits or their old fashioned hot chocolates.
Simon: A good patisserie with lots of yummy desserts too J. Try their chocolate/raspberry mouse cake if they have it.
Simon: If nothing else, you should pass by Basilique Notre Dame. It’s beautiful on any given day but surprisingly, its charm comes out even more on a snowy evening night.
Simon: This is the old part of the city. Lots of Victorian buildings that have been renovated and it’s right next to the river. In the summer, it’s beautiful to walk around this area of town. In the winter, it depends on your tolerance to the cold J but definitely worth checking out.
Simon: It’s the highest mountain in the city and gives you really nice views of all of Montreal. If you’re adventurous enough, they sometimes have tubing set up on the mountain which is super fun in the winter time, both for kids and adults.
Simon: Check out the connected underground city between the Peel and the McGill metro stations. Essentially all the high rises are connected underground which is a nice way to hide from the cold. There’s lots of good shopping in between if you decide to splurge a little.
