This mansion was built in 1870 by Joseph Forepaugh. He sold it to Civil War veteran, General John Henry Hammond. It was purchased in 1983 and renovated to it's former glory.
The caves, which technically are mines because they are man-made, are carved out of sandstone and date back to the 1840s. In the 1920s, the caves were used as a restaurant and nightclub.
