Beautiful bar/dining areas and a variety of excellent liquors. The food is superb and has left me with an impeccable first impression of Russian culinary. I will be back many times more. Just splendid
For more uppity, middle-aged, higher incomes earners, I would recommend better clubs like Avalon, Zouk, Ku de Ta, Attica etc. These places might be more expensive but will you a night to remember.
All in all, I guess if the people energy was more, more customers etc., it could have been special but for now, 'Cheap Plastic' is as far as this place goes.
I visited Rasputin last Wednesday - Ladies night. No ladies there. Just anxious waiters (none of them Russian) looking for empty glasses so they can get a new order.
Don't trust the other reviews - they are by fellow employees. Marco is the manager and is obviously biased to Rasputin. So are Baby M, Annita M, Kuriachan Jose. Fake popularity and hypocritical charm.
What sort of Russian place hires nothing but Indians to work there. It's a miracle it's still running. Even with new manager, profits won't really go up.
Only two words come to my mind when I think of this place - Cheap Plastic. It's alright for teeny Bops whose pockets are empty. Things are cheap here so that's good.
Blini mushroom and borsch soup were ok. Stroganoff is so-so - too much sour cream overpowering the beefy goodness. Chicken shislik tasted just ordinary grilled chicken.
Also, there was a 'bloody incident' last year about this place in which untrained bouncer assaulted a customer. Cops were involved and it was covered in the newspapers.
It got some bad publicity because of that and that might have further hit business. Maybe, now they have better bouncers who are trained in defence more than offense.
Bottom-line is that the place sucks downright. The crowd is sleazy, employees are underpaid and low profile, ownership sucks and the ambiance is absolutely bourgeois.
