Finesse in a bottle from a cool & tricky vintage. 2011 was a tough year for the vines, & as is often the case in strife-laden scenarios, only the best survive. Our 2011 Pinot Noir from choice vineyards throughout Sonoma County is a silky smooth taste of the best Sonoma County has to offer. A blend of Pinots from both coastal & Carneros vineyards, aromas deliver bright fruit notes of black cherry, wild strawberry, cherry & plum. Supple tannins finish long & round. Mountainside fruit from the highest vineyard in Sonoma Valley continues to give us a dynamic interpretation on Cabernet. Ripe blackberry, clove, & anise hover on the nose, while sweet vanilla aromatics from the French oak barrels build complexity. The palate is juicy & rich, comforting & intriguing like a dark chocolate-raspberry torte enjoyed w/ a steaming cafe mocha on a cool day. Rich tannins & good structure keep this wine dancing on the palate for minutes before revealing the espresso spice & sweet tobacco end notes. Enjoy now through 2017.

Our Hudson Chardonnay initially made a name for itself as a wine that balances power & subtlety, & the 2011 is no different. Eleven months aging in French oak created a rich caramel spice core that is accentuated w/ a natural acidity that maintains vibrancy & elegance. Both the nose & palate show essence of Bartlett pear, stone peach & golden apple that give way to orange blossom & sweet vanilla notes before gliding into a finish of salty crème brûlée & white tea.

The nose of the Diablo Vineyard Chardonnay is reminiscent of toasted brioche, bread pudding & orange marmalade. A creamy texture & flavors of fresh lemon-lime, vanilla pastry cream & toasted meringue underscored by saffron-spice & refreshing acidity, keep the palate wondering what it will discover next. A delicious & distinctive Chardonnay for those who dare to be different.
