One of the best bbq spots I've ever been to. If you're not in the mood to try the dry ribs (that everyone raves about), go with the bbqsammich. Pair it with a super-local brew: Yazoo or Jackelope.
Definitely the best BBQ in Nashville - load up on ribs and sides. Save some space for their amazing fruit pies (warning: very hot). Freshen up with a local brown or pale ale.
3 in our party collectively we had dry rubbed ribs, chicken, pork & 6 sided. Everything was delish. The ribs & slaw stood out above all the others. Pitmaster Steve & counter staff are top knotch
Good ass BBQ in a hidden part of Nashville. Cafeteria style dining. plan your visit carefully because tables are 1st come 1st serve & you aren't allowed to "hold" them before everyone gets their food
Mixed experience, son and I had half rack of ribs and loved them! Daughter had the jumbo wingsbuffalo style and the sauce was unique, smoky and delicious. husband had the pulled pork and it was cold.
The dry ribs are swabbed with an acidic, finely tuned baste, and then dusted over a potent spice blend that riles the taste buds into a frenzy yet never detracts from the redolent meat underneath. Read more
This place lacks in ambiance, but you’ll forget about that as soon as you take a bite. Order the smoked green beans. They are perfectly smoked and spiced with bits of pork. We went back for seconds!
Loved the ribs, and the pulled pork was also very good. The Mac and cheese and bbq beans were also very good. The green beans weren’t my favorite. Would absolutely go back.
Saw the owner on bbq pitmasters. I had the wet ribs and my husband had the pulled pork. Everything was very good! Mario was a great bar tender too. The drinks didn't break the bank! We will return.
Try the dry rubbed ribs, mac & cheese, potato salad, & green beans! The peach fried pie was delish but an extra $2 for a scoop of ice cream is silly. I would like to try the BBQ nachos next time.
Carey Bringle is one of our all time favorite people in America, and not just because he's one of the country's best pitmasters. Don't make a trip to Nashville without a stop into his BBQ spot.
Award-winning pitmaster Carey Bringle has set up shop in the Gulch, and barbecue aficionados from around Middle Tennessee are flocking to this no-frills temple of pork.
It's not a surprise that Carey Bringle knows pig, but it exceeded my high expectations. The pulled pork is fantastic, I loved the ribs and you really, really, REALLY need to try the white sauce.
The ribs were amazing! Was recommended to get dry when I ordered them wet and boy was she right! Also order the Mac and cheese for your side. You won't be disappointed!
The pulled pork was very good - flavorful and not dry. Coleslaw, mac n cheese and fries all good, too. Ribs had too much seasoning, which didn't go all the way thru the meat, & no smokiness at all.
Good food, great atmosphere. Was there at lunch and it got busy right at noon. Although I didn't imbibe, there is a really nice full bar and large flat screen.
I asked what was good, not realizing I was speaking with the owner. He gave me wonderful instructions, and I can say that I've never had better BBQ. Splurge and get a fried pie too!
