Sit at the back bar (to the left, up the stairs when you enter). Chili is outstanding and the bat renders will give you a but back if you order 2-3 at the bar. Plus, Secret Service everywhere.
Fabulous food combined with old fashioned service. Warm and welcoming. You'll want to be a regular but they'll treat you like one even if it's your first visit.
Deborah is the best! She's really funny, honest, and great to chat with. Don't decide what you're eating based on the menu you find online. The menu in store has way better suggestions.
Felt like I was dining in a 5 star restaurant. Had the cauliflower, pastrami sandwich, and caesar salad. All three were great, but all three needed more dressing.
For dinner, call ahead for reservations at Old Ebbitt Grill (001 202 347 4800). It's one of the city’s landmarkrestaurants and a favourite of former presidents including Theodore Roosevelt.
Good food, friendly staff - and the bartender Margaret Ann in the side bar is the most professional, friendly and fun bartenders I've ever seen in action :)
i only do Grant's Bar oldest bar in DC-MargaretAnn, then Truman's Bar is nearby, oldest Saloon in DC is Harry's around the corner also, after hours food & drinks downtown across from US Treasury Bldg.
My favorite restaurant in the city. The whole place has this great historic ambiance. Higher end food so higher end portions, and prices. Worth every penny though!
Came here for breakfast, the Eggs Long Island and EggsChesapeake were both delicious. The ambiance is very traditional and speaks of the place's history. Go!
Loved it! Best meal I had in town. If you sit along the two-top tables, learn to make friends with you fellow diners, you are already to be in the business anyways :-)
Best value in DC. High quality, solid portions, fair prices. Open late and a great raw bar is a plus. President grant would go here if he was still around. Cheers!
Trout parmesan is big enough for 2. Waiter said weekend corned beef hash is different from the weekday one. Weekday one is served in a skillet and has different seasonings.
The 50min wait was totally worth d while.Food was really great & service was excellent!Only complaint was d 2 staff at the entrance who were quite rude when we asked abt d waiting time to get a table.
The most fabulous and famous place to take your parents in DC is Old Ebbitt Grille. The fantastic seafood, service, location and ambiance, makes Old Ebbitt timeless.
The 21st Amendment beer (Sadly not on draft though still tasty) is a must try for those who love a good dark beer & like to soak in the political environment (21st Amendment...). Ironically made in MN
Grabbed a seat at the bar for a late dinner. Great atmosphere& service. I had the Rueben, meat was over done, yet somehow still good. Try something else OEG has a deep menu. A must stop if your in DC
Epic atmosphere, cool people, and they have Guinnesson tap. I recommend a dozen oysters on the half shell: two each of East Beach Blonde, Matunuck, Raspberry Point, Rocky Bay, St. Simon, & Wellfleet.
Too often, this place is over-looked for being a tourist trap, but their brunch is excellent and perfectly located for an afternoon downtown. I definitely recommend the eggs benedictRead more
