Recently built terminals (both the international and the Garuda domestic ones), clean throughout, great selection of shops and F&B outlets. And the gateway to one of the world’s most special islands!
The new airport is so much better than the old one. Clean place, friendly staff, much more organized than before. Free Wifi is having problem right now. Food is tooooooo expensive.
Great improvement to the new airport compared to the old one. There is a taxi counter by DFS. Note taxi ride to Legian/ Seminyak is about 95k, payable to the driver. Don't pay 120k at the counter.
International Departure? There are lots of charging stations / power points around the perimeter of the food court seating. The food court is halfway through the duty free mall. None in gate areas.
At the entrance to the hall with the check-in counters, have your passport and print out or screen shot of your flight details ready. Otherwise the security won't let you through.
Free WiFi, no need to sign in. Immigration was smooth. Get the local SIM card after arrival, exit to the left near Kiosk. Ensure you get back yr own SIM card, they might just dispose it if you dont.
Seriously, this is quite an awesome airport. Reliable free wi-fi, super cleantoilet, few shops to do last-minute-shopping. Although you have to pay Rp 200k, it really is worth it !
Nice new airport, with variety of shops and restaurants. Good clear signage for gates and customs and immigration was fast and efficient. Massive improvement over old airport.
I travel all the time. Bali should be proud to have such a good airport. Great food at last wave, Hard Rock Cafe, so fast to get through customs and check in with Air Asia.
Only ILS Approach on RW 27 (via Benoa). RW 09 (via Kuta) has non-precision approach. Long runway (3000m). Nice to visit this place. #GarudaIndonesia #Boeing737NG #Wheels #5StarAirline #Pilot
Popular private hire car driver platform Grab (like Uber in the US) has a customer lounge as u exit International Airport Arrivals. Order a car & wait in the cooled lounge. Your car will fetch u there
Systematized process from arrival to departure. Airportstaff are polite and well-trained. The departure area showcases a wide selection of stores from high-end brands to local souvenir shops.
A far walk to the gate, so spare more time before your departure. It's cleaner and has more decent shop. Many taxi around. Can use grab or gojek here. Or rent one for a day. Don't forget to bargain.
Good, cleanairport with HardRockCafe on the airside. When wondering around - look up, especially around gates. And remember - keep proper social distance!
Did u know? Airport closes for 24hrs (fr 6am local time) on Nyepi (Day of Silence), which is a public holiday, to observe the Balinese-Hindu tradition of meditation, fasting & reflection
You won't get bored at this airport as there have a variety of foods, drinks & if u still find nth entertaining? Go 4 Hard Rock 4 Air Mexico martini set !
The last time I visited Bali was in 2012. I remember the airport was on progress to rebuild. I'm surprised after 2 years, the airport turns out to be a well representative airport. Nice and clean.
Gusti Ngurah Rai, a Balinese hero who died on 20 November 1946 in a puputan (fight to the death) against the Dutch at Marga in Tabanan, where the Dutch defeated his company with air support.
Ordering a via a ride hailing app either Grab or a Gojek is much cheaper (up to 50%) than the airporttaxi service. Gojek is an Indonesian company so their app and reach is very good to use.
Don't worry if you didn't find any decent souveniers on the streets. There is a wide selection at the airport. In fact even better offers and prices are in US $. Alcohol prices are refreshingly low 😌
Its very clean here, and has been renovated. You'll be enjoy while you waiting ur flight, you can buy foods or souvenirs here. Or just sit and enjoy their wifi (high speed).
Named after Balinese hero Lt. Col. I Gusti Ngurah Rai, this is the gateway to Bali and is a mere 10 minutes from Denpasar and Kuta. On arriving, always take a Bluebird taxi outside the Arrivals hall.
If u request uber or grab go level up to departures area coz local taxi drivers don't let uber and grab picking up customers in arrivals. it is annoying but it is Bali. Just take it easy
To get the transport, taxi or car for day tour with professional tour driver highly recommended Mr Bali Tour Packages, Bali Tour Guide and Bali Tour Private Driver www.mrbalitour.com
Upon entry from a foreign country, be prepared to wait in a really long immigration line. Even Tyra Banks has to wait in the long line, and she doesn't love it!
all good but they have to focus on adding more counters .. it's very hard everytime we go or come to bali that we have to stay 1 hour for boarding even we do on line checking... plz add more counters
Recommended to book your taxi early at a hotel for a certain time, not when you are about to leave for the airport as it takes awhile for the taxi to get to the hotel these days.
Singapore, ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand passports can now go through immigrations via the autogates. Also, there are food options after passing immigration e.g. Two Tigers, Hard Rock Cafe etc.
Good airport... just the officers at the visa counter gave me a hard time although all my documents were perfect... maybe because of my nationality... no hard feelings... good place nonetheless.
The dislike goes for the immigration on arrival! There were 3 officers for over 400 tourist. we were waiting for an hour to pass by. Don’t pay to skip the lines cuz those people are scammers!
If you need a taxi after arrival go directly to departures (top floor) and use one of Blue Bird Group meter taxis dropping off passengers as they are not allowed to pick up anyone from arrival.
Go upstairs to the departure drop off area to get a metered Blue Bird taxi . Fare to Legian without traffic was about 70k IDR, much cheaper than what they'll quote you at arrivals hall.
Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), also known as Denpasar International Airport, is located in southern Bali, 13 km south of Denpasar. It is Indonesia's third-busiest international airport.
