Situated as the centerpiece of the 1.2 mile-long Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is the first observation wheel of its kind in the United States
Along with the A/C gondolas, this wheel has one million lights, creating quite a light show at night. If you're afraid of heights, the breath-taking view will have no problem distracting you
Photo Tip: If you want to take photos inside the gondolas on the ride, take a black t-shirt with you, turn your flash off, and get someone to hold the t-shirt behind your head to block out the glare.
I wish we had been told about the VIP seating before we went back, it costs more but you get no waiting leather seats and see-through floors, and unlimited rides.
We went on at night and it was nice but you probably have better views during the day or at sunset. There is also a self serve ticket machine out front if you don't want to stand in the ticket line.
