Robert O'ConnellApril 10, 2012Go first thing in the morning . . . or later in the evening to avoid the crowds.
New penguin exhibit is tiny, crowds were insane. Might get better once it isn't new anymore but it's nearly impossible to get the kids up close enough to see anything.
Live in the area, with kids? Get a membership and save $ on everything.
If you get to the Zoo early in the morning or around 2 p.m. the grizzly bears will be up from their naps and playful. Read more
- Park in Gibbon Parking lot. The walk to the entrance is much quicker during the construction projects. Read more
- Meghan McInernySeptember 3, 2009The embedded round windows to the right of the shark tank are also a stellar place to take your kid's photo.
- Go see the new penguin exhibit (2011). They're awesome!
They do not have straws here for the safety of the animals. Bring your own if your kids need them.
