City secret: This is one of NYCs best used-book stores. Less picked-over than the Strand & better selection than the others (but not nearly as charming as Housing Works). Good non-pretentious collection of secondhand books with decent price. No minimum amount for credit card payment.
An old favorite for serendipitous used art book finds. Plus the late hours are great... Til midnight on Fri/Sat & "Sometimes Later."- A good selection. Good for "digging". More likely to have bargains than the Strand.
