From speakeasies to dive bars, these are my favorite bar spots around NYC.
1. Burp Castle
Linds: Get shushed.
2. McSorley's Old Ale House
Linds: Can be crowded during peak hours, but just ask the staff for a table. They are great about helping you find seating.
3. Slaughtered Lamb Pub
Linds: Downstairs seating is the best.
4. White Horse Tavern
Linds: This was a famous spot for Bohemian period artists, writers, and musicians in the 50s and 60s.
5. Pete's Tavern
Linds: The oldest continually operating pub in NYC.
6. Back Room
Linds: Proceed with caution, while those PTZs are delicious, they'll creep up on you quickly!
7. The Raines Law Room
Linds: Make a reservation to get a table, or stand in the kitchen-style bar area in the back.
8. Angel’s Share
Linds: Once you find it, you'll be glad you did.
9. PDT (Please Don't Tell)
Linds: Take a picture with one of the many mounted animals adorning the walls.
10. Lightship Frying Pan
Linds: The absolute best place to take in a sunset on the Hudson (with a bucket of Coronas).
11. The Oak Room at The Plaza Hotel
Linds: Get a history lesson on the bar from one of the fine Oak Room bartenders.
12. KGB Bar
