If you want to be the taco the town, ask for it "crispy cheesy" style. It's a taco with a normal soft shell wrapped around a slightly crispy shell with cheesesandwiched between the two.
One of the few places I can find a vegetariantaco that doesn't leave me feeling like I'm lacking ingredients...so tasty. Also very good prices and short waits for food.

Order the 'carne asada' tacos and mention crispy, you won't regret it and on some side it wouldn't hurt to order chips & salsa ......all this will be a foodgasm for under 10$
Great food. Packed most of the time. Expect to stay in line 15 mn aprox and 15 mn to get your food. The place is not the cutest place to eat but it is quite clean
A veggie burrito was moister than I'm used to because there's no rice in it, but it was still very good. There was a line of 20 people by the time they opened, which says something.
Went to Self Edge with a friend, asked the guy there where the best Mexican place food was in Mission, and he said La Taqueria! Best carne asada taco ever, and pretty cheap too.

Zagat 25. Cost $12. Awesome tacos. "seating is scarce" in the "no-frills" environs, so prepare for "constant lines" – though "speedy service" keeps them moving.
