Well this is a unique place here selling all kinds of books along with a full service bar and restaurant. Definitely worth checking out just for the novelty. Fri/Sat open 24 hours as well.
Good beer, great crowd, and attentive staff. I had the shrimp and grits, with andouillesausage, bacon, and creole seasoning, and I keep thinking about it.
I went into the original Kramerbooks & & when it first opened and asked "Booze&Books&Food -- what more do I need?" They displayed a message for a while, "If we had a shower, you'd never leave."
A warm and welcoming DC instituition celebrating life and literature from 7:30 AM DAILY. It's a mainstay for the DC reader and a place to celebrate and enjoy the simplest of pleasures
Crab cakepasta is amazing! Triple chocolate cake is delicious too. Very cool place with a bookstore, bar, and restaurant - all are separate from one another, preserving its distinct atmosphere.
Monica Lewinski bought 'Leaves of Grass' with her credit card for President Clinton in this establishment. Having used plastic, the bookstore was subpoenaed by independent council, Kenneth Starr
Recommended as a great spot to teach/learn in an informal setting by trusted locals! Added bonus: pull any book off the shelf to illustrate your point.
This place would be great with just the bookstore. But it also contains a cafe that serves up fabulous food and sweets. One of the best brunches in town!
Great Key Lime Pie. Peach Cobbler rocks. Ice cream is poorly sweetened. Avoid all Nutella product, dry and lifeless. Also Mocha Ice is mixed ice and mocha powder. Eh.
The crab cakes are small but tasty and packed with meat. The mussels are soft and buttery. And the book selection is excellent. I wish I could read the whole store!
Browse all the political, literary and indie books of your dreams. Great world, biographical and historical sections - cool employees, great espresso and delicious food on the menu.
The butternut squash ravioli is delicious and they were playing the Best of Morrissey when I was there. Wonderful. Books and food are two of my favorite things in life and they both thrive here.
