Impossible to make a reservation, but with the DINR app you can find spots for the same day. I recommend pretty much everything - hands down for the smoked beefcroquetes and the blood sausage.
My favourite dining experience since I've been in Montreal. Highly attentive staff, great dish selection you would not find elsewhere. Come here as a group and order to share. 10/10 would do again.
Bill Addison's review: "The signature 'spaghetti lobster-homard,' with chopped bacon & tarragon among the cream and butter, bridges the decadence between retrolobster Thermidor and pasta carbonara." Read more
Warm attentive service, hiptrendynoisy and rich unrefined dishes. Excellent pan fried foie gras, rich buttery creamy baconylobster spaghetti, disappointing crab brest and good halibut with uni
One of the most memorable meals of my LIFE! Loved the foie gras w/ shaved apple (tasted like a rich apple pie), sea urchin, lobster spaghetti, and lamb shoulder.
"People ask me all the time what my favorite restaurant in the world is, and I always give them the wrong answer. My favorite restaurant in the world is Joe Beef." -David Chang [Eater 38 Member]
What can you say that hasn't already been said. Order all of the greatest hits: lobster pasta, steak, double double. The wine selection is also amazing. Just trust the staff and you will be happy.
Wow. The spaghetti is an obvious must. The peppers in foie sauce and blueberrymeringuedessert were also incredible. Also, trust their wine pairings they’re 👌🏼
Lobster spaghetti was beyond amazing! So flavorful and you get an entire lobster, def share! Menu on wall no English menu though. But food and cocktails make up for it!
There's an option to add truffle on any dish for $15, but it was poor quality so don't do it. Get the lobster pasta & horse tartar. Have the kombuchacocktail. Great vibes overall with ample seating.
Well worth the wait. Believe the hype. So impressed with the service. Very accommodating. Recommendations spot on and personalized. Go here with a group if you can. So much good food to enjoy.
Great ambiance, great wine but me and my friend were not so impressed by our main course for the price . The spaguetti and ossobuco was gorgeous tho.Ill go back and try again. Maybe a bad day ?
Undisputedly, this place is the Mecca of québécois cuisine. Do not miss this if you're visiting Montreal. The menu changes all the time, so ask the the waiters for recs – they'll hook you up.
There are not enough superlatives to describe how amazing Joe Beef is - to echo others, go for the lobster spaghetti and NY strip, and save room for the Marjolaine cake!!!
I went with a party of 6; everyone was delighted with their meal. I had the horse steak and it was delicious. The breakfast sandwich is easily one of the top 5 things I've ever put in my mouth.
Picture doesn't do justice to the amazing food. It lived up to the hype and waitstaff was friendly. Make reservationswell in advance and if you don't speak French, let the servers order for you.
1. order a joe beef pilsner - it's brewed for the joint. 2. ask for a tour of the garden to see where your salad comes from. 3. savor the oysters. 4. order everything with foie gras. 5. foie gras!!!
A Griffintown's institution. Joe Beef is always above-par. Their soft steaks, often served in the pan they’re cooked in, may come wrapped in bacon, served with scallops, or swimming in gravy. Go!
Located in the heart of Little Burgundy, this classic steak and seafood joint takes local Quebecois ingredients and turns them into belly-warming comfort food. Needless to say that J.B. is a landmark.
Terrific atmosphere (very cozy) and service; food is great. Skip the double down - it's overrated and not super flavorful. Definitely grab anything with rabbit or lobstermushrooms!
Start off with the bloody Caesar. Get the asparagus salad with fresh mozzarella & raw scallops for appetizers. As for the entree the spaghettilobster is definitely a winner!
Talk about amazing Quebec bistro food! If they have the "foie gras double down" on offer, and you're feeling brave of heart, go for it. Otherwise, trust your waiter and they'll lead you well.
Excellent ribs (not the best I had, but still very good) but please order a nother side with your plate... Beans come usually with it.. What a mix! Good old fashion fries do the job! Good appétit!!!
Be vigilant when ordering wine! The staff likes to suggest wines. Usually the higher prced ones! Have a look at the wine list! Meal was GREAT! Terasse was intimate and spacious!
Food is amazing, especially the beef steak & cream of mushroom soup. Great atmosphere & ambiance, & friendly staff. However, the service was very slow; waited over an hour just for a soup and salad.
The Pizza Salad with Pepperoni Bacon is delicious! Now you can make this amazing meal; Chef Fred Morin's recipe is featured in the "The Better Bacon Book" for iPads. http://bit.ly/foursq_bacon

Deeply disappointed. Overrated. The main dishes lacked a lot of flavor. Spaghetti needed was too sweet and creamy. Chicken needed more salt. Steak too chewy. Trout and zucchini flower were amazing.
The menu changes daily – but Tony orders up clams, a double down, beef, chicken and duck. As seen on Travel Channel’s The Layover with Anthony Bourdain.
Old Montréal restaurant classics. Little Burgundy. Homage to Charles "Joe-Beef" McKiernan 1800's innkeeper and Montreal working class hero. Steaks and seafood.
