- Kazumi TeradaSeptember 22, 2013Do try the matcha affogato. Waiter will come by your table, make matcha green tea (like a quasi tea ceremony) and pour it on top of vanilla ice cream to make the ultimate green tea ice cream.
- The best ramen within a mile of the west village. Spicy pork miso is what to get. Extra fresh pressed garlic is a nice touch, too.
- Order the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu Ramen and ask them to hold the spicy paste - I like spice as much as the next guy but in this case it totally masks the BEST broth in NYC. (& I'm a ramen fanatic)
- Vicky SunMarch 9, 2014Obviously get a Tonkotsu Black. But if you come with enough friends and appetite make sure you also get the chashu pork buns and perfectly crisped gyoza.
- BettyJune 7, 2014The combos are well worth it. Tonkatsu Black (with thick ramen) & a hearty side of fried chicken = stuffed & satisfied!! Nice to see this quality back in town (without the crazy wait time).
- Alexa ScordatoNovember 1, 2013Great ramen option in the 'hood with good appetizers and $17 pitchers of Sapporo. For a silky, well balanced ramen, go for the Jinya Tokontsu Black.
- Rei WangFebruary 25, 2014Great customer service is under appreciated. Tonight, I left my purse at Jinya Ramen and the hostess + waiter chased me down 2 blocks to return it. Thank you! Oh, and the Tonkotsu Black is delicious.
- Serious EatsAugust 7, 2013A Japanese import ramen bar. Stick to sure-things like pork broth and the "black" tonkotsu with charred garlic oil for best results.
- RyJuly 30, 2013Finally found ramen as tasty as what we had in LA! Wonton and Tonkatsu Spicy are both great. New place, but I'm sure there will be a waiting list soon. :)
- Rashmi SinghNovember 24, 2013Get the match affogato. I'm not even a dessert person, but the ice cream, mochi, and strawberries with fresh green tea they grate before you is *amazing*
- Julia MMarch 3, 2014Jinya tonkatsu black. They serve the matcha crepe cake from Lady M!!! Also going during lunch is great- not crowded. Excellent service.
- Go for the Tonkotsu Black Ramen and get a bunch of starters to share. Don't forget to ask about daily specials!
- nous mangeonsJune 23, 2014Tonkatsu black with extra garlic (it's free and you press yourself). If you get extra tofu it's a huge serving but served slightly warm only.
- Get the Tonkotsu Black with an extra egg and be blown away. Some of the best ramen eggs in NYC.
- Love this place!!!! Black ramen is amazing and the tempura shrimp is luxurious!!! This place is going to be packed before you know it!
- Beautiful interior, delicious food and they aren't messing around with the fresh garlic side.
- Jade CSeptember 29, 2013Had the Matcha Affogato & the Wonton Chicken Ramen. The Matcha Affogato was so good, definitely recommend!
- Nick GrayDecember 10, 2013If you sit at the communal table in the winter, you can roll your jacket up and put it on the shelf underneath your chair!
- Sam CNovember 15, 2013Everything we ordered was delicious-the ramen comes in huge servings so beware when you order apps. Definitely coming back
- Sujan HongSeptember 27, 2013fresh garlic topping! you get a couple cloves and a press (that actually works) and it's free.
- David GreenbergerAugust 20, 2013Protip: ask for extra garlic (press your own) and hot sauce. Mix it in the original for great results.
- Dan CheungJuly 3, 2013My favorite ramen of all of them was the tonkotsu original or the tan tan noodles
- Justin RamosJanuary 13, 2014Try the seared yellow tailed sashimi and tonkotsu black ramen. Incredibly soul satisfying.
- Katie BrownfieldJuly 22, 2013Spicy chicken ramen was delicious. Start with tempura brussels sprouts to share.
- The Pork Bun improved a lot!!! very fresh taste!! best pork bun I ever had in NYC~~~
- Michael LiMarch 11, 2014Service is a little slow but it's great noodles and even better skewers at a good price point.
- Dominic PreussJuly 27, 2013Get here quick before everyone figures it out. Uber popular in LA. You can still get a table easily!
- Mat RickSeptember 23, 2013It's so good once it hits your lips. Don't forget to get the Matcha topper. NOM.
- Please try the special ramen! Tokyo YATAYI is great! Authentic!!
- Nice addition to the neighborhood. Tasty chicken thigh skewers.
- CLOSED! ...So sad. When it was open, the spicy miso ramen (without the spicy paste) was the go-to
- Sean WilkinsSeptember 23, 2013The Tonkatsu black was good. But be prepared for a wait since they're working out the seating links still.
- Amanda SJanuary 13, 2014Ippudo-level tonkotsu broth minus the wait. I was pretty, pretty, pretty impressed.
- I felt more welcomed by the staff than at any other restaurant I've been to.
- The tonkatsu spicy ramen has the most flavorful broth
