Expo starts on Sunday for Hoard's Dairyman employees. Farmstaff and editors prep three classes of animals for youth dairy judges on their way to Madison.
The Hoard's Dairyman Farm was purchased in 1899 by the magazine's founder, and former state governor, William D. Hoard. Cow numbers stand at 330 Registered Guernseys and 100 Registered Jerseys.

In 1899, W. D. Hoard, founder and first editor of the magazine, purchased 193 acres. A new era dawned at the Hoard’s Dairyman Farm when we moved the milking herd to new facilities on June 21, 2007. We are now milking 350 cows and the land base has grown to 550 acres; 450 tillable.
