Two versions available: one dry and crisp; the other semi-sweet. A nose of old fashioned roses and honeysuckle. Apple at the mid-palate and a spicy tingle on the finish. Excellent when served with spicy, ethnic cuisine.
Red Wines
Chambourcin (2009)

Released December 2012. Cellared for three years, this 100% Chambourcin wine epidimizes the saying “No wine before it’s time”. Swish this deep, dark beauty in your glass to release the palate of chocolate and black cherries, followed by a dry, but smooth, finish. A true showcase of the Chambourcin grape!

Fruit Wines
Sweet Cherry (2011)

One of our most popular wines and a unique treat. Intense cherry flavor and sweet at the front and tart on the finish. Made from Montmorency cherries…the quintessential pie cherry. Enjoy it by itself or with desserts; especially delicious with dark chocolate and almond pastries.

Grandma’s Love Potion (2011)

The dictionary defines love potion as “a magic drink supposed to arouse passion for a certain person in the one who drinks it”. While we make no such claim, we are certain you will passionately enjoy this unique wine with pate, game, or pork, and for dessert with ice cream, crème brulee, and bread pudding or plum pudding with hard sauce.
Blackberry (Released 31 Aug 2013)
28.00
A light nose that develops in your glass. Full and bright, ripe blackberry flavor with just a hint of barrel-aged Chambourcin. Long-lasting and port-like blackberry finish. 1.5% r.s.

Our History
Nestled On Rolling Farmland in Northern Virginia’s Burgeoning Wine Country, Hiddencroft Vineyards Greets Guests with An Exceptional Blend of Fine Wines, Gracious Hospitality and Personable Service.
In 2011, the Housels Expanded Operations to the Adjacent Property.
The tasting room, once housed in their production facility, is now a circa 1830’s farmhouse. Open year-round, the farmhouse has two tasting counters with a view of the backyard, Dutchman’s Creek and a period kitchen building. The upper floor of the farmhouse has seating in three rooms. A large deck seats 44 guests under colorful umbrellas, and has an open view of the vineyard. Flower gardens surround the house and attract the eye with bright colors and a multitude of butterflies.
Check the Events Pages At Hiddencroft Vineyards Frequently.
Special wine and food pairings, vineyard tours, live music, and wine-maker’s dinners, are scheduled throughout the year.
This Charming Winery Was Founded in May 2008 By Husband and Wife Clyde and Terry Housel.
The couple, who came from long careers with the Federal Government, began planting their vineyard in 2001 and were grape-growers first. The Housel’s decided from the beginning that they would focus on producing grapes, and then wines, of superior quality. Clyde, who is the winemaker and largely self-taught, is doing just that. Hiddencroft wines are approachable and readily drinkable. The red wines see plenty of barrel time…between 22 and 42 months. The whites are complex and show the characteristics of the terroir…fruit, flowers and spice. Novelty wines of unusual flavors such as blueberry, cherry and blackberry grace the tasting menu as well.
During the Warmer Months, Tastings Also Take Place in the 1930’s Bank Barn.
The barn is resplendent in simplicity. Massive beams and sturdy floors, with sliding doors that open the barn up to sunlight and fresh air on both the North and South sides. Cracks between the batten strips on the outside of the barn allow in streams of light that lend an ethereal look. A large, rustic chandelier provides a warm glow. Expansive tasting counters in the barn, made simply from used burgundy barrels and fence boards, allow Hiddencroft to accommodate tastings for up to 50 wine-lovers at a time. For guests who prefer a more personal tasting, the farmhouse is a short walk down a gravel path.
