One of the best in New York. Don’t have a reservation? Eat in the bar area and enjoy the same standout service as in the dining room. We love the Sea Bass and the Pasture Raised Chicken.
Bill Addison's review: "I loved the way Michael Anthony used pork in ways usually associated for beef. A piggy Bolognese tossed with tagliatelle had an appealing unctuousness and meaty bite." Read more
One of the best places in NYC, both in terms of quality and value. Try the tavern for great cuisine at an excellent price. We loved the monkfish with citrus salad ($22) & the ricottacheesecake ($9). Read more

Dining in the tavern is always a good choice - consistently good service and delicious food. Also, they have a burger that is only available during lunch, but is worth making an effort for.
From the bread and butter that open your meal to the dessert: everything in this restaurant is outstanding. The calamari and lobster starters & the main monkfish were top notch. A good find in NY.
The Burger: Only available at lunch time and at a limited quantity, this patty is made of brisket, short rib and beef topped with aged cheddar and house-made bacon served with duck fatpotato chips. Read more
Go early on a Sunday night, get yourself on the list for the front room and get a drink at the bar while you wait. Seasonal new American dishes, reasonably priced for a 1-star spot, always delicious.
A secret burger place. It's a thing to go here. Come for lunch and ask for their burger. It is NOT on the menu, but they have it and it is EXCELLENT! So nice.
Most of the cider options hail from the New England region, in keeping with the restaurant's longstanding farm-to-table ethos, but there are also options from France, Spain and Switzerland. Read more
Order gluten-free muffins (instead of ordinary bread). Just do it, trust me. Amazing lentil soup. Octopus is a great second-course choice. Lamb is decent (but honestly not super impressed)
Went again COVID. lovely job w a la carte dining. Enjoyed a dozen oysters Duxbury. grilled sea bass, Brady had cheeseburger. Loved the fall harvest cocktail. apple crumble and panna cottadesserts
One of the most flavorful seafood dishes I've had. Lobster bisque adds the extra touch. Let them know if it's you're bday. The cake was coconut, marshmallow and meringue. Just delicious!
Get the off menuburger in the tap room (and sometimes if your really nice in the dining room). Swiss and cheddar, house smoked bacon, and a house made sesamebun!
the tasting menu is amazing, but you can always go with the Tavern room and order a la carte! (pictured: shrimp w/ brussels sprouts and troutroe over black rice)
Grab a beer and a fancyburger at the long, L-shaped bar and bring a book or strike up a conversation with the bartender. Either way, you’ll have a low-key night of deliciousness. Read more
Beautiful decor with tons of fresh flowers around the room. The limeade was some of the best I've had, the monkfish was delicious, and they brought me a cute tray of cookies for my birthday.
Favorites include the LambPappardelle as well as just about anything Mike Anthony does with chicken or smoked fish (they smoke the fish at the restaurant, it's amazing). Read more
The sea bass was fantastic and the beignets for dessert was just divine. We were so lucky to have Mike as our server, he made the whole experience even better.
Soup & Sandwich Special for lunch is a steal! But a fancydinner in the main dining room (reservation required) is a great splurge! The vegetarian tasting is so amazing, we didn’t even miss the meat!
Wine was superb. Beef tartare, sun chokes & oysters were amazing, as was foie gras. One chef dining with us claimed it was one of the top 5 dishes he'd ever tasted. Skip the burger, go for the lamb.
What's good here? Everything. Good, service, ambience. The best in New York without the pretentiousness. There's no way you can eat here and not be happy.
Meal was great from start-to-finish with the strawberrydonut the best thing. Go with the prix fixe option to explore the menu. Great for a date or chill at the bar after work.
Gramercy Tavern truly deserves the rave reviews that it gets. The ambience, decor, and the food are all exceptional. I would recommend Gramercy Tavern to anyone and everyone visiting Manhattan
I have been to GT since 2000. The service and attention to detail is impeccable under the Danny Meyer tutelage. I have never been disappointed by the food nor the price points. Definite must.
My dinner start to finish - more casual at the bar - was heaven on a plate. So thoughtful and high quality, with great flavors. Gramercy doesn’t disappoint and continues to amaze me.
Drinks, appetizer, entrees, deserts, services, interior and music. Everything is so perfect. Love the coffee selection of Blue Bottle for espresso and Irving Farm for French press.
An iconic American eatery with an exquisite menu and beautiful decor. We love the farm-to-table aspect and really enjoyed their seasonal tasting menu and all the incredible selections it offered.
One of my favorite places to be. The burger is fantastic, however sells out quickly. Get in early for lunch and grab one. Pair it with a Mortoni or two.
An NYC institution. Amazing food, classy and swanky without the stuffiness of an old school restaurant. One of my favorites- perfect to impress out of towners
Great for a special occasion - they really do spoil you. Splurge and go for the tasting menu - trust them they know what they're doing and are totally good with catering to specific food aversions.

Hands down one of the best restaurants in the city. Danny Meyer sure has this business model down pat. The apple salad and grilled pork belly made my day.
The unofficial official First Restaurant of New York. Though its formal dining room is a bit too too for Eater 38 contention, the front room and its seasonal American menu wins. [Eater 38 Member] Read more

Their menu features classic comfort dishes with premium ingredients and culinary flair. I indulged in the trufflemacaroni and cheese & it exceeded all expectations-creamy, decadent, and delicious.
We ate at the tavern, which is first come first serve, no reservations and no dress code. The dining room requires collared shirts for guys. Highlights of our meal was off the menuburger & sea bass
Exquisite dining experience. Food are absolute delight. Classy & elegant decor. Murals & fresh flowers completes the beautiful atmosphere. The price for the 3 meal course is def out of the question!
