Eat in the bar (The Florentino Room). The restaurant section is for tourists! And you only get the world class bean dip in the bar. Cheese crisp (home style) and green chile burro are mandatory.

A historic steak house with moderately priced menu, excellent food and prime steak that is mouthwatering. Convenient location. Dine in is a must!
I always get the small filet mignon. This is about the best in the west. I also love the "weed" bread (rosemary bread).
You have to try the Flaco Taco! It is just the most wonderful treat you will ever have. Lettuce wrap, and get the baked white fish. To DIE for!
My favorite thing here is the Chili Relleno. It is to die for. No one comes close to Matta's. I also love the Robert's Taco. Those two things are almost all I order here. Try the Horchata drink.

I have never had salsa as tasty as Mi Amigo's. It is the BEST anywhere. And I know my Mexican food! There food is wonderful. No particular favorites, as it is all good.
This is one great place. Doesn't look great, and in a neighborhood rather than in mainstream area, but they are busy! Buy 1 dozen tortilla's at a price you won't believe.

I was not particularly interested in discovering that a new Mex/Anglo place had opened in the neighborhood until I tried the smoked pork. Outstanding! Prepared on site, slow cooked over pecan wood.
Amazingly good, chicken chile rellenos, chicken mole enchiladas, chorizo and eggs and the tamarindo margarita...my suggestions!

Nearly everything on the menu is made from local ingredients. Make sure to order the elote, a fresh ear of corn rolled in cojita cheese and spices. The tacos are excellent, too.
Vegan option: 23 BLK + 21, REF, W all with no cheese. Get lots of the hotsauce. Don't eat the nonvegan cookies.
