Dundee Candy Shop is located in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, KY. We offer gourmet chocolates and confections in store and online, including boxed chocolates and truffles, gift baskets and many local specialties. Hours Mon - Fri 10 am to 6 pm, Sat 10 am to 4 pm, Closed Sundays.

In 1883, Anton Busath, a confectioner in Louisville, KY, made a delicious caramel-covered marshmallow biscuit to honor Mme. Helena Modjeska, a famous Polish actress who was performing in town. Since 1889, Bauers Candy has been making this hand-dipped confection. Bauer's original-recipe modjeskas are the most popular candy in our shop!

Truffles

We are often asked what makes a candy a "truffle." Basically, a truffle is ganache (a mixture of melted chocolate and heavy cream) covered with chocolate. The chocolate may be dark, milk or white, and the ganache may be flavored with various liqueurs or extracts. Some have added ingredients, such as chopped nuts or coconut. They are truly a little piece of heaven! We have put together several different assortments of the most popular mini-truffles and dessert-size (1.5-2 oz.) truffles available in our shop.
