The oldest continuously-operating girls’ camp in the nation, wyonegonic, is right here on neighboring moose pond. It and camp winona were started by the cobb family and are now over 100 years old. They are just two of the many camps in maine and are one of the many reasons the lakes region is wellpopulated in the summertime. These entrees are named after nearby camps.
