The House has offered continuity to its neighbors by sustaining its Music School and Pottery along with social services which have proven to be of persistent need and value. In recent history, through private and public funding Greenwich House has been implementing new programs such as the Barrow Street Nursery School; the After-school and Summer Arts Camp; Children’s Safety Project, a treatment and prevention program for children and families, providing therapy to help overcome the aftermath of physical or sexual abuse, domestic violence or other violent crimes; Senior Health and Consultation Center, a one-of-a-kind program providing in-home physical and mental health services to individuals over the age of 60; Greenwich House Senior Centers, four senior centers in lower Manhattan that provide daily hot meals and cultural actives, as well as case management and daily money management; and the Chemical Dependency and Methadone Maintenance Treatment Programs, making New York a healthier and more vibrant community.
