This Belgian-inspired ale, the third seasonal offering from lower Alabama’s craft brewery, is brewed entirely w/ French & Belgian malts & Australian galaxy hops, but the focus is squarely on the Belgian yeast used in fermentation. A slight funkiness accentuates the beer’s bitterness, & a dry finish makes for a thirst-quenching brew, perfect for rooting on your favorite team this season. 16oz. Draft AVB - 6.9

Expedition stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically w/ vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature & develop over the years. A huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, & other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld & grow in depth as the beer ages. 11oz. Fairhope no. 51 is a classic American pale ale, brewed w/ a combination of American-made falconer’s flight hops & German hops. Named for being the 51st recipe entry into head brewer Dan’s beer notebook, this pale ale is packed w/ hop flavor but not overly bitter. This west coast-style India pale ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied & copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include simcoe for a unique fruitiness & grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, centennial for pine & citrus notes, & cascade for floral aroma 16oz. Draft AVB - 7.0

We rely on age-old tools in the brewery despite being surrounded by high technology. As sort of compass, we use the six pointed brewer’s star to help navigate uncharted brews. For the first edition of the Stillwater import series i traveled to the village of beerzel, located in the Antwerp province of Belgium. Here i teamed up w/ brew master Jef Goetelen to craft an authentic Belgian version of my liquid interpretation of the spring season. A recipe originally contrived a few years prior as a collaboration brew w/ my good friend Paul Kreutzer. The base is German barley & wheat, w/ a touch of Belgian aromatic; accented w/ grassy hops & an array of spring botanicals (heather, chamomile, lavender, & dandelion) . Like a fresh meadow in spring. 16oz. Draft AVB -7.2

When reading the name “stone cali-beligique IPA,” “cali” hints that it is a California-style IPA, & this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch-speaking Belgians say “belgie”) . We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply stone IPA. The result is both completely new & different, while still being recognizable as a stone brew – & stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. literally 16oz. Draft AVB - 6.9

The winking lizard blend, which was designed by the winking lizard tavern operating partner john lane for the Ohio restaurant chain of the same name, & crafted in a blending session w/ lane, gk, stone president & co-founder Steve Wagner, bremaster Mitch Steele & the aforementioned moynier. It’s a blend of stone cali-belgique IPA, unreleased stone Belgian pale ale aged in white wine barrels & stone levariation ale (stone levitation ale fermented w/ the yeast strand utilized for our Belgian IPA, stone cali-belgique IPA) aged in red wine barrels that’s been dry-hopped w/ east Kent Golding hops. (Whew!) coming in around 8% AVB, it’s immensely fruity from the vino & Belgian yeast esters, & built as something of an “homage” to the Belgian trappist classic, orval. This beer will be featured at the winking lizard tavern locations the entire month of June along w/ numerous other stone beers. 16oz. Draft AVB - 8.0

Allow us to present you w/ the stone old guardian barley wine, in all its unadulterated glory. We make small adjustments to the recipe every year, just a little bit…as it provides an opportunity to try some different hops or malts. For the 2012 release, we made a deliberate effort to move away from the English hop influence of the past few years, taking out the east Kent Golding hops, subbing in a blend of American Chinook, calypso & cascade. Yes, that’s right, cascade. This is the first use of cascade in one of our beers, & we really enjoyed the hints of grapefruit & pine it contributed to the aroma & flavor. We also bumped up the maris otter crystal malt by a mere 0.5%, & it’s amazing how much of a difference it made in the color & the upfront body. All in all, it’s resulted in a well-rounded beer that is ready to drink now, or can be aged at cellar temperatures for many years. (If you can wait that long.) 11oz. Draft AVB - 11.0

The marzenbier is an Oktoberfest-style amber lager brewed w/ Vienna, Munich, & caramunich malts & lightly hopped w/ German perle hops. The Bavarian lager yeast leaves a clean, malt focused beer perfect for drinking by the liter outside in the cool fall weather! availability: draft first released: September 23, 2011. 16oz. This Belgian-style white ale is light & refreshing, yet quietly complex. In the tradition of Belgian wheat ales that rely on orange peel & coriander for the citrus aroma, the yellowhammer interpretation instead uses kaffir lime leaves & fresh ginger to give the brew its hint of spice. Made w/ German & pilsner malts, German wheat & flaked rye, the white derives a citrus character from a small amount of Amarillo hops, added to the brew at flame out. 16oz. Draft AVB - 4.8

This surprisingly strong ale is named after the Flemish word for devil. Also known for its large, creamy head. 25oz. bottle AVB - 8.5

Abita Andygator, a creature of the swamp, is a unique, high-gravity brew made w/ pale malt, German lager yeast, & German perle hops. Unlike other high-gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish w/ a slightly sweet flavor & subtle fruit aroma. Reaching an alcohol strength of 8% by volume, it is a Helles Doppelbock. 11oz. Ballast point black marlin porter is a rich dark chocolaty porter w/ a distinctive American hop character. It is nitrogen dispensed which gives it a creamy texture, thick head & a balanced flavor that is reminiscent of traditional British cask conditioned ales. It is a great beer to go w/ hearty foods & is surprisingly one of the few beers that goes well w/ dessert. 11oz. draft AVB - 5.9

Much like its legendary predecessors, this yeti is big, bold & dark. The addition of rolled oats softens yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone & the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, oatmeal yeti imperial stout is a softer beast.11oz. draft AVB - 9.5

Lazy mag took their pecan ale, & aged it in bourbon barrels for nearly 3 months. (What barrels cannot be disclosed, ms law) what the brewery has to say: it brings everything that we like about beer & bourbon together in a special way. The aroma of bourbon fills the nose, the vanilla from the oak rounds out the finish, & the extra months of aging soften & dry out that southern pecan we love so much. In the end, the beer is about as perfect as it can be. 11oz. Draft AVB - 4.5

Annual release for Halloween, is a wpicy, dark Belgian speciality ale aged on toasted cheery wood. The nose is fairly reminiscence of cherries. The beer has a malty pallete that finishes dry w/ a slight chocolate roast & woody finish. Brewed only for the nook. 11oz. Draft AVB - 10.5
