Incredible shop. Great owners, George Howell Coffee, amazing vibe and ambiance. The coffee is on point, they are definitely doing it right. Dare I say, the best coffee bar in Astoria.
Along with the beautiful decor, the plates and cups used for in-house stays also boast clean lines and a nice heft. (Also, the decaf drip is the best I've had in ages.)
They have Dough donuts. They go fast so if you're there early try to grab one before they disappear! So delicious. The ginger turmeric tea is also great. Very gingery with only a hint of turmeric.
Doughnuts from Dough, amazing coffee...espresso drinks are on the pricier side, but I don't mind cuz they're so good! Great place to study/do work too - they have outlets all over the place.
Cozy, cute and friendly! Wifi works great but it was tough to find outlets. Lots of room to post up and do some work/read a book with a pot of tea and almond croissant.
Two new great coffee spots in a 2 block radius. This one is even better than 60 Beans, for working at least. Big space, great desks/tables, fast WiFi, power outlets and quiet.
A stunning, vaguely Spanish space, with unique furniture, a tin ceiling, tiles, raw wood, exposed brick. Different seating areas, free wifi, coffee by George Howell, staffed by industry veterans.
In the running for most beautiful cafe in NYC, Astoria's 60 Beans is staffed primarily by Cafe Grumpy alums, serves George Howell coffee, has lots of seating "neighborhoods," wifi, some plugs.
A stunning space, windows open to sidewalk, a tin ceiling, tiles, raw wood, exposed brick. Different seating areas, free wifi, coffee by George Howell, staffed largely by Cafe Grumpy alums (8/14).
Demand a free coffee if you're stuck listening to white hipster girls complaining about high rent and bad dates. Great latté, touch pricey, but the decor is worth staying a while.
Decent but pricy coffee. Was a great work cafe until it became a restaurant with a 5pm WiFi cutoff and no more comfy seats. Prob makes $$ sense to add dinner service, but changes the vibe.
I was a bit intimidated upon entry as the counter/bar/order area was a bit confusing. Meh. Iced latté. Was good. Nothing spectacular and honestly not really worth the $4.75 price tag for 16 oz.
Doesn't open til 8am on the weekend. Too much ice in the ice coffee but they have cold brew. Unfortunately, they charge 75 cents extra for almond milk. Nice staff and decor.
wanted to like it so bad. went in seeing the 'happy hour' sign out front. apparently that's only if you're dining. guess they don't want this to be a bar or make $. service terrible, food was great.
