The main objectives of Physical Therapy are to promote body strength, function and mobility and prevent future physical injury. Physical therapy is a dynamic health profession, which utilizes both scientific knowledge and evidence based clinical.
Chiropractic
Based on activating your body’s own resources. It is a scientific fact that your brain, spinal cord and nerves control self-maintaining and self-healing functions. Thus, when your nervous system is impaired through injury or stress, tissues and organs throughout the body may begin to function poorly. This is the underlying cause of many health problems. When performing a Chiropractic adjustment, the Doctor of applies specifically channeled pressure to the joint that is misaligned. Restoring the vertebra’s normal motion allows the bones to gradually return to a more accurate position and enables your body to operate as it should by “doctoring” itself.
Massage
We offer Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Pre-natal, and Reflexology Massage. Massage as a healing tool has been around for thousands of years in many cultures. Touching is a natural human reaction to pain and stress, and for conveying compassion and support. Benefits ranging from treating chronic diseases and injuries to alleviating the growing tensions of our modern lifestyles. Having a massage does more than just relax your body and mind – there are specific physiological and psychological changes which occur, even more so when massage is utilized as a preventative, frequent therapy and not simply mere luxury. Massage not only feels good, but it can cure what ails you.
Some Key Benefits
Evaluate physical problems, increase and maintain muscle strength and endurance, restore and increase joint range of motion, increase coordination, decrease pain, and decrease muscle spasm and plasticity.
Acupuncture
Works directly with the body’s energy or qi, as acupuncture practitioners believe that all illnesses are a result of the natural flow of energy through the body becoming stuck, depleted or weakened and thus making the individual susceptible to illness. Acupuncture benefits the re-balance of qi through treatment of specific “acupoints” related to symptoms or illness present. Treatment is effective in removing these energy obstructions. With certain health conditions, acupuncture can be effective enough to reduce or eliminate the need to take drugs to control pain or symptoms. Additional benefits of acupuncture are faster recovery from injuries, decreased symptoms of stress and improved circulation.

It is also known as clinical massage or treatment massage.
Trigger Point Therapy
Symptoms of trigger points include muscle tension, shortening of the muscle, numbness and sharp stabbing pains. You may experience a tingling feeling in the affected muscle and you may even feel nauseated or dizzy. Trigger points are sore spots that occur in a muscle; they’re big enough to feel, and most people know them as muscle knots. Other benefits of trigger point massage include: Increased range of motion, Decreased muscle stiffness and tension, Reduction in headaches, Improved flexibility, Improved circulation, Fewer muscle spasms.
Pnf Stretching
PNF stretching or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation refers to an advanced type of flexibility workout. It entails both stretching as well as contracting specific muscle groups. PNF stretching offers the following benefits.
Enhance Motion
Since PNF stretching leads to a considerable improvement in flexibility, it helps to enhance motion. This is achieved through using isometric stretching together with passive stretching. PNF stretching ensures both the antagonist and agonist muscle groups of specific areas are alternately relaxed and contracted to attain this particular benefit.
Neuromuscular Therapy
NMT (Neuromuscular Therapy) acute and chronic pain syndromes which utilizes specific massage therapy, flexibility stretching, and home care to eliminate the causes of most neuromuscular pain patterns. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring about balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. NMT enhances the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (movement) and it releases endorphins, the body’s own natural pain killers. It can be part of a comprehensive program, complementing all other health care modalities.
Sports Massage
Sports massage should play an important part in the life of any active person whether they are injured or not. Massage has a number of benefits both physical, physiological and psychological. The physical benefits of sports massage therapy are important for all athletes, especially those engaged in sports where physical contact and bruising are likely, such as football, rugby or ice hockey. Endurance athletes also are excellent candidates for sports massage therapy, as the long training hours and the nature of competitive endurance activities, such as running, cycling and cross-country skiing, place considerable strain on your musculoskeletal system. Sports massage therapy helps relieve stress on your joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. 220 Sports Massage can: Maintain the body generally in better condition, Prevent injuries and loss of mobility / flexibility, Cure and restore mobility to injured muscle tissue, Boost performance, Extend the overall life of your sporting career, Physical effects of massage.
Increase Flexibility
The major objective of PNF training is basically to hasten or promote the neuromuscular response by stimulating the proprioceptors. This aids in strengthening and increasing flexibility of most muscle groups for everyday or sport competition use. In fact, individuals who take part in sports that require lots of flexibility like gymnasts, figure skaters and dancers usually find PNF stretching highly useful to their overall performance.

Chiropractor
220 Fitness Chiropractic
Back and neck pain are the chief complaints for which patients seek chiropractic help. Through manual spinal manipulation, chiropractic care is a holistic therapy that focuses on maintaining healthy musculoskeletal and nervous systems to ensure overall wellness.
Back and Neck Pain
Chiropractors are best known for safely and effectively treating acute back and neck pain, as well as headaches. Whereas a medical doctor might prescribe pain medicine, muscle relaxers or anti-inflammatory drugs, and an orthopedic doctor might suggest surgery, a chiropractor will treat your back problems by hand, through manipulation of the spine.
Treatment Plan
Many chiropractors seek to care for the whole person, from general wellness to disease prevention. They examine every patient, not only for the reason of their visit but also their level of health.
Back and Neck Pain
The research about chiropractic care is growing. Recent studies show that spinal manipulative therapy performed by a chiropractor, along with exercise, relieve neck pain more effectively than medication. Furthermore, the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics reported that an integrated approach to health care - including chiropractic care - results in a 51.8 percent reduction in pharmaceutical costs and 43 percent fewer hospital admissions. You should consider seeing a chiropractor if you experience frequent pain in your back, neck or joints, as well as headaches. This is especially so if intense soreness follows accidents, household chores or prolonged periods of poor posture.
Ncv Testing
If your doctor of chiropractic believes that your problem is due to a nerve being compromised, based on your health history and her examination of you, she may prescribe a neuro conduction velocity test, or NCV test. Surface electrodes will be used to determine if there is a decrease in the normal function of the nerve. Most health insurance policies cover the cost of this test, and the information gained will help your chiropractor to develop the best treatment plan for you. Chiropractors bring the musculoskeletal structure into proper alignment. Chiropractors change the position of your body and apply pressure to particular points along the spine that are not properly aligned. By adjusting the spine with their hands at particular pressure points, chiropractors unblock nerve energy and allow it to flow better down your spin and throughout your entire body. Repeated visits can, over time, realign your spine to optimize overall health.
After Diagnosis, a Chiropractor Develops a Treatment Plan.
“This may include combinations of chiropractic manipulation, physical therapy and rehabilitative procedures for many musculoskeletal problems.” 220 Staff can provide nutrition advice, exercise recommendations, ergonomic and lifestyle counseling and so on. The successful management of chronic conditions may require a combination of these major components. This holistic approach can reduce the need for potentially addictive pain medication or invasive surgery.
