Famous for the best pork tonkotsu in Tokyo. Worth the splurge to try the Kurobuta Pork (said to be the best 🐷 in the world)!
The white shoyu wonton ramen is excellent. Probably the best wonton ramen in town. The chashu is pretty good too.
One Michelin starred restaurant. Only fix course menu worth 6,000 yen. That’s a bit pricey for Yakitori, but be well worth going!!
Bring a date who loves draft beer. Great rotating selection of craft brews in an intimate setting. The bar is also the kitchen. Not necessarily good for large groups but try anyway!
Cozy and intimate, bartender will make you whatever you want based on flavors and liquors you prefer. I recommend Yamazaki and White Lady.
Not very Japanese (couldn't see local people while there, everyone was western) but amazing atmosphere and good food. Staff is friendly and the skewers are really good (try the cheese and pancetta)!
Great experience! Okonomiyaki was so yummy! You will smell a lot after as the clothes and hair soak up lots of smoke but the food is really good. Not the healthiest but certainly yummy
this place is amazing. order the cold udon with chicken tempura and the hot udon with shrimp tempura. the tempura is the best i’ve ever had, ever. order one hot and one cold, as it’s very different!
Best ramen I have had in Japan so far. Rich and savory soup with many kinds of toppings! If you get all the toppings, there's a discount. However, next time I think I'd do without the fish eggs paste.
They have an English menu now, pictured. Unique place mixing Japanese coffee culture and quality coffee, which is lost in most third wave shops in Japan. Pricey, but worth it.

Amazing tonkatsu. Get the “Rossu” option which is the fattier pork. The wait isn’t too long. Sit at the bar downstairs if you can. Sometimes they’ll send you upstairs if you’re in a group.
Traditional soba shop. Been around longer than my grandpa. White soba Sarashina is unique. Firm and bouncy. Incredibly light. Get it with some tempura. Also try the fried sardine "chip" Tatami Iwashi

Ohitsuzen - choice of meat or fish (choose bbq Eel) on a bowl of rice, with various condiments and miso soup. You mix it all together with brown rice tea. It's delicious and very cheap! 1850Y each.
The tuna set is mouth watering good and only 3000 yen. Well worth it for amazing sushi.
Get the set menu, you won't be sorry! If you want to remember after all the sake, take notes so you can know what you had.
One of the most famous and popular restaurant for Yummy and unpretentious gyozas. Opens at 11.30am but there's a line forming outside as early as 11.15am. My favorite is the fried gyozas with garlic.

"Taiyaki" is a fish-shape cake with sweet read bean paste filling inside. Custard cream and chocolate are also popular. Fun to see how chef is cooking while waiting in line.
absolutely delicious tonkatsu. lunch set which includes rice, miso soup, & tsukemono (pickles) is +¥200. the staff are very attentive & speak english. the restaurant is cozy & the seating is so cute.

Amazing assortment of drinks, personally a big fan of the Cachaça Martinez, but give the bartender an idea of what you like and they will hook you up with a drink that works.

This little shop down a hidden alleyway changed my taste forever. Manten Curry, meaning “full marks” or “perfect score” in Japanese, lives up to its name as one of the best places in Tokyo for curry.
Amazing Unagi dishes! They also have Western seating available (though in a different building). The Unagi dishes are delicious, I'd recommend the unagi liver skewers as they're very unique.
Amazing view, complimentary sweet umeshu shot, great tasty udon and broth. Ask for the thinner noodles, and you can order up to 3x the noodles for no extra cost.
Dora-Yaki (pancake stuffed with sweet red beans) is the best here. Especially the pancake is so nice and smooth and yet chunky

The premium katsu was very rich- come with an empty stomach! The pork miso soup was delicious too. They have four kinds of salt, hot mustard, and katsu sauce as condiments for the katsu. So yummy!

Extremely fresh Hokkaido's speciality sashimi bowl. Sea urchin was creamy and gushes with sea water flavour; one bite into the toro and it melted in my mouth. Highly recommend here.
