Sergey Konovalov: Awesome ramen. Thick broth. Portions are big. Was there 10 minutes after they've opened and the place was full, so there is definitely a possibility of lines. Well worth a detour and/or waiting!
Ab T: My travel partner enjoyed this meal thoroughly. We waited around 45 minutes as we arrived at 5.15pm for dinner. However I've waited for a longer time during the summer, good but not worth the wait.
Cat: A great place to eat Japanese sweet before or after your visit to katsura villa.130 years history, try their famous mugi or chestnut manju sweets. They have tables inside if you can't sit on tatami.
Sophia Parker: Bohemian style curry restaurant with a lovely garden. Cheerful staff explained the menu to us. Tandoori chicken was succulent paired with brown rice, spinach curry and a craft lager beer.
Oliver S.: Exceptional good sea food, great atmosphere and truly authentic Japanese food. English menu available. Try the whale bacon! Great sake selection. ~6000¥ pp
Stefan Maierhofer: Went there after the recommendations of foursquare, couldn't agree more. Lovely quiet place to relax and check your pictures you just took from Nijō Castle.
Roxz イトウ: Beef Tongue is Yum! But its so tiny and packed that they prepared a small AC room beside to accommodate waiting clients. Park yo bikes at the konbini infront and be quiet as there are grumpy neighbors
Nina Yiamsamatha: One of our favorite meals in Japan. Stand at the bar (no seats available) and watch them cook simple, delicious skewers. Order the sake flight and enjoy!
etta y: Beef fried in an iron pot atop rock sugar, doused in soy sauce and dipped in raw egg. Nice location on the river, with alfresco balcony dining in the summer.
Fanny Ma: Awesome selections of sake. Ask for recommendations from chef about food and you will never be disappointed. Owner's son speaks fair English and that certainly helps ;)
Hei-Yu Tang: Can't miss this place by the window display with numerous desserts. Extensive English menu of desserts available with some unique dessert ice cream creations with French Fries or Fried Pork Cutlet.
Elizabeth Burstein: Fun decor but the pancakes had way too many ingredients and a sweet spot. Came here on our walking tour and they make issen-yoshoku style pancakes
Sebastian Hádl: Great coffee place with a cool design! It gets a bit busy and crowdy because of the popular tourist location. However, the service was quick and smooth. Do stop by on your way to Kiyomizu-dera!
Vincent Tan: Petit Restaurant Naito is a restaurant serving Western food with a Japanese twist. Good ratings, closed Mon. http://petitrestaurant-naito.com/top.htm
teta oik: Amazing tarts and beautiful, cozy ambience! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Menu is in English too. If u come Xmas period you will loooove it!
Jon Goldmann: Chill 30-seat yakitori place. Worth trying the more exotic parts of the chicken.. fried kawa (skin) and kodoro (hearts) are highlights. The less adventurous parts are just as tasty!
Mason Su: It is a little hard to find but well worth your time if you want an afternoon spent in a cute tea house with amazing Nama chocolate :3 cute cat called Miao Miao as well!
Allan Solomon: This is amazing new breakfast place! They serve groups at specific times so make a reservation. Traditional Japanese breakfast with amazon service. Strongly recommend!!
