The owners of Raines Law Room created a new speakeasy twice the size, with reservations, with many French themed rooms. It's still the perfect date spot, but just bright enough to go with friends.
There isn't a bad seat in the house, but if you're feeling fancy, ask for a table in the back room. If there isn't one available, sit at the bar to watch the talented team do their magic.
If you like Raines Law Room you'll love this place. Super cute with themed rooms and romantic nooks to steal away and sip fancy cocktails. Reservations will be needed as more people find out about it.
I love the way they direct me to enjoy my bourbon, this house creation has notes of cinnamon, clove, and apple as is described. We now have a better decorated speakeasy in neighbors than those in LES
You should sip cocktails here, like the Girl Scout cookie-inspired Samoa - which blends genever, bourbon, and crème de coconut or Hero of Little Venice, an excellent flip featuring rum and root beer. Read more
Very cool little cocktail bar. Once seated they will show you a little button on the wall to call the waitstaff. The cocktails are excellent, so plan to stay for more than one.
Beautiful space! The atmosphere is intriguing and romantic. 4 themed rooms take you back in time from Mid Century to Art Deco, Victorian to Versailles. Bespoke cocktails complete the experience.
Large speakeasy with a couple of different-themed rooms. The booths are gorgeous & comfy and can fit up to 6 people. A good spot for a classy group hangout. The drinks are on the stronger side.
Dear Irving is a true gem! A visually stunning bar with crystal curtains, outstanding cocktail selection, classy vibes, attentive staff and an experience that'll only make you feel like a millionaire!
When I come here I always sit at the bar and start with a Gibson. A martini like cocktail that has a tasty pickledpearlonion dropped into it. Their seasonal cocktails are always a great follow up.
I appreciated the look and feel of the themed rooms. Definitely the feel of Gramercy all over this place. It's probably best for a group no larger than 4 and preferably for 3 or less.
Dear Irving is inspired by history. Cut into quarters, it pays homage to Marie Antoinette, Abraham Lincoln, The Great Gatsby and JFK. A second outing in the top 100.
You'll probably wait a while (which is ok bc you can kill time elsewhere - they'll text you) but it's worth it. Great, delicious, different cocktails, and really good small plates! And themed!
Man, this place is NICE. A cool, swanky little speakeasy with several themed rooms. Aim for the back room if you can. Pro tip: look closely at the wallpaper in that room. Reservations highly advised.
Has a very similar vibe to manhattancricket club. It's cozy, romantic, and lively all at once. Loved the vice versa for a light summer cocktail. Definitely bring people here to impress.
Swankity swank. This new cocktail bar makes great drinks and is in a beautiful space. Perfect for a date or catching up with old friends. Snag a booth up front.
Drinks were nice but this ricottaflatbread was the highlight of the night. With seasonal vegetables, aged balsamic and hazelnuts. It was extremely delicious, we had 2 orders!
This place is perfect in multiple aspects: location, decor, vibe, services and most important, cocktails. This is what a speakeasy should be. @dearirving
Great place. Tell them the type of ingredients you like and they'll make you a custom drink. Press a button and the waitress will be over in a second. Try and get a seat in the back room.
New to NYC is Dear Irving, a cocktail parlour cut into quarters inspired by eras and people. Caps and drinks are doffed to Marie Antoinette, Abraham Lincoln, The Great Gatsby and JFK.
This place is so cozy and the staff are really nice. 4 rooms with a different period setting. Great cocktails: I like the Negroni Sbagliato or the Vice Versa.
My favorite cocktail bar in the city!! It's classy with perfectly handcraftedcocktails. You would expect the staff to be snooty, but they are anything but!
(Thrillist tip) Drinks here are as delicious as you'd expect from the woman behind the Raines Law Room, but it's the vibe -- or vibes, really -- that make this spot a draw.
Upon walking in, I knew I'd be a frequent visitor at Dear Irving. The bar is warm and glowing and the cocktail I'm drinking is divine. Raines is great, but this place is killer.
If you ever feel like drinking cocktails in style, try to get seated in the room at the far back. You will be transported back to the time of kings and queens at Versailles palace.
Dear Irving, a deadly new cocktail den with four rooms channeling four eras to transport you across the space-time drinking continuum, now open in Gramercy from the owners of the Raines Law Room.
From the mixologists of Raines Law Room: Dear Irving. Guests will find an opulent interior as well as a well-curated list of cocktails, such as the gin-based Vice Versa.
“Drinks are elaborate: the Hero of Little Venice is a rummy root-beer float; the Vice Versa (gin, rosécava, grapefruit) tastes like the bootlegger didn’t scrub all the soap out of the tub.” Read more
I'll even give you a choice: Madame George if you're after something refreshing that has a little kick or the Samoa if you fancy something totally soothing and smooth.
