The best burger place around (until Shake Shack come to Australia). Get the cheeseburger with bacon! It beats the Mary's Burger hands down. Put some fried chicken with it and chug it with some beer.
The Mary's burger was delicious, the garlic aioli and juicy beef patty were perfect. Have the fried chicken on the side and dunk it in gravy. The chilli sauce doesn't have enough kick for my liking.
The Bloody Mary is bloody awesome. It's the most balanced drink I've had in Sydney, and the melted cheese and crispy bacon just put it over the top! Such a delicious cocktail.
I must say I was impressed by the mushroomburger - it was reminiscent of Shake Shack's. vego. Good value as chips included. For gluten free folks they'll wrap it in a lettuce. Nice wine were bio
This is the best fried chicken I've had in Sydney. Tried it at Miss Peaches and this is far better. The standard cheese burger is pretty good too. Soft drinks are grossly over priced for what you get
$14 for the best cheeseburger in town doesn't sound ripped off. Totally worth it. Enjoy it with half/full bird. You'll leave the place with a happy belly.
I was hoping it might be a great burger, and I've been craving Shake Shack, but sadly not even close - having said that, very tasty (bit pricey), cool beers on tap, interesting wines. Worth a visit.
Come at 6 for plenty of free tables. Had Mary's burger, shared mash and half chicken among three of us. Would come back for the chicken... The burger wasn't bad, just overhyped.
Mary's will always have my heart as one of the best burgers in Sydney. Don't look past the Mary's burger, and you'll definitely want to get some fried chicken and mash to share.
It's a bit like a NY dive bar - loud & dark. But with amazing fried chicken. And burgers. And mash and gravy. And a good variety of alcohol. It's awesome, basically.
If you're here for the burgers, there are three options - Mary's, cheeseburger and mushroom. They come with shoestring fries which go really well with the hot sauce.
Had the Mary's Burger with Double Meat & Cheese and Extra Pickles, it was by far the best burger I've had in the Southern Hemisphere. Can't wait to go back!
Mary's manages to make you feel classy as you pour Tabasco sauce from a Jack Daniels bottle over your plastic tray of greasy burger and fries. Warning: long queues. Get in early or on a weeknight!
Mary's is a patch of Williamsburg in Newtown. Ordering the Mary burger is mandatory, as is the spicy dark fried chicken. Be bold and wash it down with a glass of Diebolt-Vallois.
Definitely go with the Mary's burger. Make it a double and throw on some trashcan bacon. For the carnivores, skip the fries and go for the southern fried chicken.
Gets packed really quick. The interior acoustics amplifies chatter, making conversation a challenge. And if you're not ordering anymore, they give you the boot, er, I mean the bill to settle up.
Mary's burger were good, but expected better. The amount of meat was pancake size, though was tasty. Shoestring Fries were salty and tasty. Wash it down with a Pale Ale or a cider.
Burger resembles closest to the in n out franchise in america but w/ a price tag. Fries are abit fast food. Ample seating upstairs, alternative setting. Unique ales but expensive!
Bit over-rated. Place is funky, has character but burgers are gourmet version of Maccas and chicken is KFC's Colonel's secret recipe. Though there's cocktails, wine and beer to go with the food.
Menu = burger + fries or deep fried chicken. Great tasting crispy coating on the chicken but dripping in oil. Nice burgers but not much variety. Cocktails look good but are pricey as usual.
The highly rec'd Mary's burger is a less greasy HJ whopper, fries are avg. Mash&gravy is a nice touch. Chicken is great. Not really worth the trek given the location & price. Nice but not a revisit 👍
The space looks more like a dodgy bar than a burger joint - burgers were decent, original was still the best, get the mash - wish they installed more lights
