Discovery flew more missions than any other space shuttle. It flew 39 times from 1984 to 2011, spending altogether 365 days in space. We kept it as-is to preserve its space-flown history. Read more

Discovery is one of the coolest things you will ever see. Seriously. She's preserved exactly as is after shuttle mission STS-133, in which the orbiter docked with the International Space Station.

Utterly wonderful! You get to see a space shuttle up close. Absolutely worth a visit for anyone if you're flying via Dulles, and worth a visit for space fans if you're in Washington DC.

Must see this Museum. Staff here are very welcoming and very humble including the security personnels. Would recommend anybody to come and see how well the planes and shuttle have been looked after.

When standing behind this shuttle, turn your iPhone sideways, switch to panorama mode in your camera, and pan vertically to get a photo of just the shuttle or a portrait with shuttle in the bkgrnd

Yeah, she's a little worn, but the orbitor Discovery flew some 148 million miles before being retired. As you stand before this amazing piece of machinery remember she launched Hubble!

Very cool. Cooler than Enterprise in NYC because you can see re-entry wear on the tiles.
