    The Ashmont Fire Station was built in 1895 from designs provided by Edmund Marsh Wheelwright. He was the architect of the Boston Opera House, Horticultural House, Longfellow Bridge, etc.

    Square was named after Colonel Oliver Peabody and his wife Mary in 1893. Peabody was the founder of Kidder, Peabody & Co.
