The second largest airport in Greece. Cozier than before the refurbishment that rendered it more pleasing to the eye. But still a long way to go before it caters to the demands of the modern traveler
Small airport but with a big duty free with both local greece specialties and liquor. Bus nr 78 goes directly to Thessaloniki can have delays so be in good time to airport.
Very small airport, crowded by people! Passport control has huge line! Come earlier! Luggage needs to be dropped off in different desk after check-in desk! Very unconvinend and takes more time!
Forget the stupid 01x express bus that costs 2€. They are so infrequent they are always packed. Take the 79 to ikea. From there the 2k or 3k should get you to where you need to go.

Small airport, peripheral one, though thessaloniki has lots of tourists and is the second biggest city in Greece. Thessaloniki is my birthplace, honestly I want sth better than that 😏

Free WiFi :) Products in the duty free shop are quite cheap, but BEWARE that you now have to fit EVERYTHING you buy in your only piece of handluggage if you travel with Ryanair...
If you want to grab a coffee, do it before passing security. At the gates, there is only one coffee shop and the line can be big. The Duty Free store has a good selection of traditional food.
Works OK and had a few positive expansions and renovations recently...still far from an efficient and modern airport worthy of the country's 2nd city...no baggage drop-off belt at the checkin counter
One additional piece of disgrace for this airport: No priority in the security check lines for the frequent travelers as of NOV14. Υ.Π.Α. did it to give..equality to travelers. Pseudo-leftism.

It is a disgrace for our city waiting on Sunday evening for 30 minutes in open air for a dumm bus to go to the city! The alternative: a taxi fare of 25 € ! Welcome to 21st century Africa
It is quite small with a not so bad selection of stores and duty free. After check in, you have to take your tagged luggage to a different place for drop off which is slightly bizarre.

Two security check points that lead to all gates. You may find a long queue there. At the gates there are few chairs to sit down, and usually are occupied.
In case you have luggage to check-in make sure you arrive early at the airport. For ALL departing flights there is only ONE security scan machine. Tip for smokers: no smoker's lounge
Food and drink options limited. No free wifi. Bus to center number 78 costs 0,80 cents but can get really crowded. TIP:take bus 39 to IKEA and then from there number 3 to center for 0.90 cents ticket
Free Wi-fi. For the rest, it is in direct need of expansion. If you are traveling during high season expect long waitinglines. ATMs available on the departure floor.
