Hamms's Gulch sometimes gets muddy, for no apparent reason, so I suggest boots. But the trail is gorgeous, with its redwoods and ferns.

The combination of the razorback and spring ridge trails is roughly a 10 mile hike. Spring ridge is mostly open space, razorback is wooded and shady. Choose the direction you hike them in accordingly

A good set of trails for a nice workout outdoors. The toughest one is the Spring Ridge trail to the Windy Hills summit which climbs 1400 ft in 2.8 miles.

Bring a blanket and come here to search for shooting stars (or just to look at the night sky).

Take Spring Hill (sunny) down and Hamm’s Gulch (shaded) up if you’re doing that loop!

This is mostly all open, so on a hot day you will certainly be sweating. Ok, I admit it. On a weak day, I've had to turn around!
