It is impossible to ignore the ghosts of history that haunt this notorious prison, but perhaps the most evocative space is the courtyard where the leaders of the 1916 Rising were executed.
This was built in 1220 to honor the Patron Saint of Ireland, St Patricks. It stands next to a very famous wall where it is thought that St Patrick baptized people during his visit to Dublin.
