Bring your dog, or borrow a friend's and visit the insanely big and really pretty off leash dog park. The sprawling wilderness buts right up to the Mississippi River.
Voted Best Dog Park by City Pages in 2010. No need to have an off leash permit to let your dog run free! Be sure to stay out of "No Trespassing" zones.
Great fenced-in dog park. Lots of other dogs here in the afternoon. Not so much in the morning. Even still, lots of open space for a dog to run.
Great park for smaller dogs! Also, the park department frequently patrols if you have a permit, so make sure to get yours thru the parks dpt (u can do this online too!) for $35
Don't forget to pick up after your dog. It's a great park, please help keep it nice. :)

They just got new chips. My dog is a jerk so I won't be taking him again, but the people were really nice about him...
It's hard to believe that the city of Minneapolis has dedicated this park land to dogs! Tons of space for your pooch to run (not to mention a beautiful walk for their owners).
